Levy is a genius part two.

All he has to do is claim the squad is bloated, we can't buy until we sell and then refuse to sell any of the shit players he's been accumulating down through the years even when offers come in.

Get the poor unfortunate manager to parrot it, job done.

I mean its not like he hasn't had all fucking summer or anything

Chuk is out for months, Lavia still hasn't featured, and I'm not sure how much they're planning to rely on Ugochukwu considering he's still a teen. We'll see I guess, but I can't see us matching their valuation.
nah he's injury isn't as bad as first feared and they're saying 6 weeks.

I agree with what you're saying in that I don't think we can get that one over the line and it's a waste of time BUT they can afford to lose a CM.

Gallagher and Johnson are both really underwhelming I’m sorry.

I see how they fit into Ange’s team, but neither are improvements on what we already have.
Gallagher is better than Skipp. Easily and HG. Johnson is arguably a better prospect than Son and Kulu and Richarlison as he seems to be able to play across the front 3, is younger, faster and scored as many/more goals for a poor team.

were we ever in the race?

I didn't believe that story but I do believe a scenario in which we enquired about him just in case Brennan Johnson deal falls through. If we actually make a loan bid for him today it means we don't think we can pull off the Johnson deal.
I really don't see why we wouldn't be making a serious offer for a loan bid for him. Johnson looks fairly good tbf but seems to lack technical skills necessary at the moment for a club desiring top 4. He has potential to be a world beater, in the championship for sure.

Johnson is a solid player for a team with ambitions to qualify for europa league and sometimes champions league at a push.

He hasn't demonstrated that he's a superstar at Nottingham forest like grealish has done at villa or kante/mahrez did at Leicester.

Buy 'decent' and expect 'decent' outcomes.

Chelsea have Fernández, Caicedo , Lavia, Chuckwumka, Gallagher and Ugochuckwu as cm's and they're about to sign Palmer who will probably take up a central attacking position meaning only 2 of the others will start.

It's plausible that they will sell Gallagher but I'm not sure about our relationship with them. Historically its been awful but apparently Boehly and Levy get on.
Apart from Madueke ( the other 3, Kendry Páez, Ângelo Gabriel & Omari Hutchinson are out on loan), Chelski got no other WR, so I would presume that will be Palmer's main position.

He's 22 and playing for a horrible team, and has still shown more end product than Grealish does for City.

Disagree ey? Jaynola Jaynola YOU WANT SOME :wansum:
Ha ha I ain't mad enuff to pick a fight with you, my man😄

Nah I just don't think it's a 6.5 window, even excluding the outs. Yeah Mads for 40 mil is very good business, especially if he stays injury-free all season...but who's he gonna pass to now Kane is gone? We finally get a lockpicker but sell our superstar CF?! Spurs a la Daniel eh.

As for Gugli and VdV, jury's still very much out. If Vic turns out to be shite, I'm not that bothered as it's only 17 mil...and seems we'll have Hugo to call on for another year. But 34m for VdV, I gotta say that's a good 10-15 mil more than I'd have liked to pay for a very inexperienced, raw kid. But good luck to them both, hope they smash it.

Now if we factor in the outs, the deadwood that we've not shifted (and likely won't) and the gaping holes we've still not filled (CB, CAM cover, Winger, CF)...considering it's bloody Aug 30, well...that's a 3 or 4 outta 10 window in my books.

Let's all be honest this transfer window is a 1/10. We have once again failed to strengthen the team and in the sale of Harry Kane and lack of replacement we are weaker than ever because we do not have a starting centre forward that can score goals. The fact is I put this year down as a rebuilding one and just wanted to see some hope but I just don't.

Come the 2nd September we are going to still have on our books 4 or 5 players deemed surplus to requirement and it is not because no one wants these players it is because of a constant over pricing of players we want out the door.

Surely it would be better to get Ndombele off the wage bill than asking for his depreciated value. Surely a player like Dier has zero value now. Why are we turning down bids of £7m for Rodon when it would be better for him and us to just getting him off the books.
I may be in a different universe but I don’t think this window has been a 1/10. We’ve bought a starting keeper, CB and AM. All three of them quality buys and good value. We’ve also reintroduced some outcast/loan players in a LB and two CMs. That’s 6 of our starting 11 being completely different from last year. I’m also really excited to get Bentacur and Gil back because I think they’ll be starters again but Sar and Kulu could challenge them for places which is great. Do we need a new starting striker, backup midfielder and backup centre back - yes, but I don’t know if it’s been as bad as people have been making out.

I’m also not up for spending money for the sake of it. Some of the transfer we’ve been linked with the last few weeks have been extremely underwhelming. I’d rather save 30-40m this window and then add another 30-40m in the next to get a really quality striker rather than blow some of it on a bench warmer.
