Exactly. There are three parties in this. Lloris has had several approaches and certainly turned down the best of them after the clubs agreed because he wasn't guaranteed to start. Whaah!

Dier thought he could either fight his way into the starting XI or sit back on his wages for a year and walk into a nice fat signing on bonus. Whaah!

These things are inevitable if we don't address the problem at source when players move into the last 24 months of their contracts, not in the last year.
there is also a problem giving players better contracts every few years, they might briefly be flavour of the month, but when a new coach comes in we're stuck with overpaid dross.

Well, if Sanchez is potentially off to Monaco, Dier is now our backup.

I'm sorry you do not like my posting style. Maybe you prefer the posting style of those who go into meltdown after just 3 games. Out of which we got 7 points scoring 2 goals a game and playing some nice attacking football.

And yes, they were average last season, because they were playing in a completely different system. They'll be much better in an attacking system and, even then, no one said they're going to get 20 goals apiece. What we're saying is we don't need them to and we'll still be fine. I don't see what's so binary with that.
Define “fine”? Fine might not be good enough to achieve our aims this season, that’s the worry.

Our attacking options aren’t great, that would be the objective opinion of all football fans regardless of who they support. Dispersing goals around the team doesn’t negate that fact. It’s a clear area where enhancements are required.

I’m not an unrealistic fan. I’m happy to work within our financial confines and don’t expect squad perfection. But if we enter this season with Sanchez 3rd choice CB and the existing attacking options, I’ll consider it poor risk management and be really disappointed in the club. They could seriously impact the chances of meeting our (realistic) objectives this season.

ENIC is an investment company. It’s not an operator of asset. They are already guaranteed a huge profit on the sale. now he’s transferred it to his family trust it just needs the right offer…
That pot will continue to grow, it's not shrinking anytime soon, little incentive to sell until he is ready.

Think the line is blurred with what ENIC do TBH, they were an investment company but they've been a pretty big operator of assets with us during their tenure and that's one of their biggest investments. They are like any other business, looking to make profit, whether that's via earnings or a sale
