Bingo. Exactly.

I'm gonna re-use my own line because I liked it: he thinks he's doing Moneyball, he's actually doing The Big Short.

But did he hire the required staff in scouting and data analysis to be, even pretending, that it's moneyball? I haven't done a deep dive into who they brought in, when they culled all the existing staff, but from what I saw/read it didn't strike me as the approach.

Boehly, an American hedge fund manager with no background in football, naming himself interim sporting director at the club was one of the most insane things I've ever seen. The English media is so used to thinking of club chairmen as de facto transfer chiefs that this wasn't commented on nearly enough.

I will bet you there's some 25 year old spreadsheet wizard that has Boehly's ear running Chelsea's recruitment department, regardless of what the official roles are.

Burnley Football Club are pleased to confirm the signing of France U21 international Han-Noah Massengo on a four-year deal.

The 22-year-old central-midfielder joins the Clarets after his contract expired with Bristol City in the summer.

Sky Sports: Alex Iwobi is undergoing a Fulham medical ahead of a deadline day move from Everton. Fulham are set to pay £22m + add ons for Alex Iwobi from Everton.
