The Lloyd Kelly stuff feels like we've gotten to deadline day, panicked because we've failed to get anywhere and totally sacked off the supposed Data Analysis route that we were hoping to use and just loaded up FM and done a player search with the filters "HG", "<25", "Left Footed" and "<£15m"...

Although on the last one we'll probably end up spunking £20m+ on him anyway if it does come to fruition, I struggle to see why Bournemouth would sell at this stage though, and if they are happy to sell then it leads you to wonder why exactly we would be wanting him anyway???

Sanchez can cover Romero at RCB but we need VDV cover. Dier will have to play with the reserves, such a weak mentality if he is happy to not play football, puts him in the Ndombele category.

Think about the ‘’leadership group’’ we had. Dier and Lloris happy to stay without football while Kane was desperate to be out the door. That was the leadership and we wonder why we are what we are.
Sanchez is woeful. He isn’t appropriate cover for Romero who suffers with some injuries and discipline problems.

Sanchez starting 10 games for us this season would be incredibly risky.

Where has this “Sanchez is OK cover” narrative come from? He’s been behind Dier in most managers pecking order for years. He’s a terrible passer, flappy to say the least under any pressure and his top qualities (recovery pace and last ditch tackles) are only necessary because he’s a poor reader of the game.

We simply cannot go into the season with him as 3rd choice CB.

That Barca friendly has really gone to people’s head.

I don't think so. Looking at the clips on YouTube, and it's clear what he's good at is being aggressive high up the pitch, and using his pace to cover back. He's probably not the greatest box defender, and that will be more significant as Bournemouth have generally been pushed back by better teams over the last couple of years.

If anything, he reminds be a bit of VDV, which is good. We don't know how good a defender Mickey will be when we're pushed back against the likes of City and Woolwich. Probably defending the box isn't currently his strongpoint too.

Literally Carter-Vickers and Jack Clarke last season.

I don't hate the Johnson signing but these tweets trying to make it an exciting will we/won't we get it done by the deadline are just ridiculous.

It's hardly an exciting 'can we pull it off' signing - all just a bit meh innit! (And I'm normally a happy clapper!)
