It would mean we would see Dier in Defence with an Injury or Suspension to Romero or VDV.
We really need to get someone in regardless though as what happens if we lost VDV and Romero, we could be looking at a backline of Sanchez and Dier

Seems obvious doesn't it, loan Dier to Bournemouth or Burnley and then out of contract. We'll get a loan fee and his wages paid, better than him hanging around like a bad smell all season.

I'd rather just keep Dier, than buy some guy who we will end up wanting to get rid of in a year or two.
I know it'll absolutely destroy Levy, but the time has come to say to Dier - you can stay but you will not be in the squad. I'm sure Levy will lose sleep for a whole year and contemplate where his life went wrong, having to pay a player to put his feet up. But if Dier is trying to sabotage our progress, we have to sabotage his career.
