In truth you can’t really rate a transfer window for at least 12 months. Veliz and Phillips could be fantastic or they could be crap. Vicario and VDV so far look to be good players, Maddison is proven quality. Soloman is squad depth, and I think Johnson is a good signing. The signings are good, we just have done enough of them. We haven’t successfully cleared the deadwood, we haven’t properly replaced Kane and CB depth is weak.

I originally gave us 5/10 but then remembered Ndombele is still around etc. I changed my vote to 4/10 but might change my mind later on.

Dier, Hojbjerg and Lloris

Our leadership council who all apparently believed they are way better players than they actually are at this point.

So glad we’re moving past them.

A lot of our deadwood players are on expiring contracts. I think we'll just have Ndombele and Reguilon on 1 year contracts.
Tanganga may be back, Spence and Rodon will definitely be back, if Sessegnon weren't hurt he'd be in the deadwood zone, Lo Celso's only market is skint Spanish clubs, ditto Gil and he has two years left, the Richarlison situation may be in terminal decline and he'd have three years left.

We're not out of the woods yet. But Dier, Lloris, Sanchez, Forster, Austin and Perisic go off the books at the end of the season, and the one we did find a solution for was Winks.

Many hours trawling this thread over the past couple of weeks. Do I regret it? Yes... Would I do it again? Abso-fuggin-lutely! :parker:

It's not been an easy window to put it mildly has it, but let's see what we can do going forward lads. COYS!!!

Rated a 4 unfortunately.

Mostly for the lack of deadwood outgoings. That’s fucking criminal. Hugo, Dier, Sanchez, PEH, Belly, GLC all bowling around the training ground on massive wages and just, training! All on Levy of course…

I like a lot of our signings tbh but the lack of quality cover at CB is alarming, esp with International Windows incoming 😬

Yeah, this hasn’t been an outstanding window by any means, but this will take a few more to really fix most of it.

Kicked a few cans down the road. That’s how we roll.

They’ve both had good careers here, so I don’t want to be overly disrespectful, but Lloris and Dier really shouldn’t be let back into the training ground.

We’re trying to build a new culture with a new leadership group, having two formerly influential players moping around on the fringes because they can’t arrange a move away will just be massively detrimental to camaraderie and togetherness in the new era.

And of course none of our players should even be forced to look at Ndombele for fear of the negative influence his mere aura might cast on others.

Buy them out or have them train separately.

Yeah that doesn’t mean a great season. That’s what Swansea played when they came 13th or whatever it was.

Look I’m pretty buoyant for this season, I think the first XI looks strong and I’m loving what Ange is doing thus far.

But we’ve obviously got weaker in attacking areas. Natural when losing Kane but the incomings in that area haven’t set the world alight. Add that to the situation regarding our backup CBs and the end of the window just feels a little deflating.

I think it’s totally possible we get CL this season (that would be a great season), if that gets derailed by an injury at CB and too many game for Sanchez I’ll be pretty disappointed in the club….

Maybe not to you it doesn’t constitute a good season but it does to me.

I’m choosing to be optimistic. I damned well ain’t going down the route of so many on here and just focusing on nothing but negativity, doom and gloom.
