Transfers January Transfer Thread 2024

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

You said that Angelos doesn't use wingers who cuts in - which is exactly what Kuluseski does. And you said that he doesn't know how to play on the right - which would have been his place since he is a left-footer.
I didn't say he doesn't know how to play on the right, he doesn't know how to play on the left. You misunderstood me. Ange's wingers also do cut in occasionally, but they mostly keep wide.

My bad, I meant you said he doesn't know how to play on the left - which means he is not suited for Angelos system, in which case he plays regularly out of position (well, until now at least).
So far Angelos' used a left-footer on the right and right-footed WF on the left. For now at least.
Anyway, time will tell...

Go all out in January for him, don't take the risk he is PERFECT for our football club
Very few clubs are willing to let their best player go in the January window. And if Palace will be struggling in the bottom half there is almost 0 chance of that happening.
And if he continues to play like he's doing then his price will be closer to £80m+ and richer clubs - like Man Utd, Chelski, Liverpool - will be interested as well.
Besides, who would he replace at Spurs? And if Spurs continue they're present run of form it's not always the best to bring in a new player who'll squeeze out other top-performers in the middle of the season due to team chemistry.

Not sure where to put this :

Matthew Collecott (Finance Director) claimed that since 2018-19 after opening the stadium, Spurs have spent £847,442,145, with a net spend of £605,811,964.

The accounts presented stated that Spurs spent £195,614,698 last season and recouped £46,993,390, meaning a net spend of £148,621,308
.

So broadly spending £200m each season since stadium re-opened and recovering £50m each season from sales of players.

In the summer maybe if we didn't get Solomon but for the wages he'd need, we can't get a project.

Solomon already covers the role for a player that covers either wing.

If Perisic is sticking around then we don't need a sub.

Still have Gil to work out who he is for this squad. Johnson as well.

If the front players are doing ok in January, reckon it will be a CB and that's it.

LW: Son / Solomon / Perisic / Rich / Gil
RW: Kulu / Johnson / Solomon / Gil / Madz

We have a LOT of wide options.... I'd hold fire until the summer and see how everybody has fared and what European comp we're in.... Come the summer, we could see Perisic, Gil and even Richy leave.

I don't think trying to rehab Sancho should be on our agenda in Jan.... The vibes are way too good atm to risk fucking with it.

Yup. I'd even hold fire on Eze until the summer if Bentancur is back and playing ok by January.

We need a CB in and then see how big of a move to make next summer.

Jan:

CB: Is Kelly that guy? (Bmuff fans prefer him a LB apparently)....... Bit cold on Tosin now; I want him to want us.... He'd be here already if he did.
Eze: As soon as a deal is do-able tbh...... Though I don't expect CP will want to deal mid season.

Next summer:

Eze (GLC/PEH out - No brainer)
LB: (Depends how Ange feels about Davies by the end of the season, but longer-term planning should kick in soon.... Kelly?)
LW: (Probably; once the dust settles - See above)
ST: (Maybe..... )
GK2: Forster & Lloris both out of contract

I’d have been up for Sancho in the summer but we got Solomon instead and I’m ok with that.

Now, if Perisic goes and Gil doesn’t work out, I’d much prefer we chase another young Mega talent like Nusa than take on the recovery for Sancho.
Definitely. My big hope is to find a forward who is relatively well rounded, but has a real eye for goals. Generally hit the ball hard and true, unlike say Kulu, who tends to balloon shots all over the place.
