Player Ben Davies

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I like the 1 year contract for over 30’s. Reassess it every season.

Davies is probably a candidate for that.

31 in April. By then he'll effectively have 1 year left.

So, his current deal expires when he's 32........ I think he totally deserves another year (33 / 2026)..... Then you let that run down and if he's still got legs; give him another year and let him retire here or he can leave for free.

Plenty of time for that Ballon D'or. 🏆

He has done a good job as a backup, I think he's better with the ball in the Ange system than without it. We need that VdV style player to cover the high line though. There are certain times, even tonight, when the ball goes through and you think "VdV would have snuffed that out" and Davies can't do it. But that aside, he has done a decent job. An upgrade is still required, a quicker and more athletic player is needed.

thought that was his best game in a spurs shirt earlier, fair play to him. still need to get an upgrade in jan tho as just like with skipp its glaring that hes just not at this level.

Davies is clearly intelligent. Be good to integrate him within the coaching setup in due course. I’m really impressed his attitude too. He is always professional. Never stroppy. Ultra reliable and does what he does very well.

A lot of the best coaches turn out to be players of shall we say limited ability

Jack Charlton was the only World Cup winner who proved to be a good manager, several of the others were poor or even terrible (Bobby Charlton, Bobby Moore).
