No way, Sanchez in that pre season friendly against Barca at least showed that he's far more comfortable playing on the half way line and his pace would get us out of a lot of situations.

Emerson is basically a body which allows us to play high but in terms of basic CB instincts he just doesn't have it.

Both better options that Dier mind you.

Earlier this month, Het Nieuwsblad reported Tottenham Hotspur have already made contact with Royale Union Saint-Gilloise over a potential deal for Kōki Machida.

The Premier League side continue to have the centre-back on their agenda and Voetbal Belgie provide the latest about this case.

Union Saint-Gilloise are currently leading the league table and intend to keep their squad intact beyond the winter market. However, that could be difficult because ‘there is interest from Tottenham’ in the 26-year-old.

The Jupiler Pro League side have conceded 20 goals from 20 league games this season and when the Japan international has been on the pitch, they have conceded more than one goal only on one occasion.
This shows Machida is a key figure for the Belgian club and therefore, they don’t want to part ways with him in the winter market. That doesn’t mean Tottenham or another club wouldn’t be able to snatch him from them.

Voetbal Belgie state Union Saint-Gilloise invested €1m to sign the star and could consider selling him if Spurs make an offer around €10-15m.

Ange Postecoglou has requested the north London club strengthen the centre-back position next month. The latest claims from Italy have stated Tottenham are keen on signing Genoa star Radu Drăgușin.

They are but both probably won't play until February.

Bentancur is probably our only midfielder who can play all midfield positions with real quality.

Is Gallagher a better 8 than Bentancur. I dont think so. Sarr looks to have a higher ceiling too

But on a whole Bissouma, Bentancur, Maddison, Sarr, Gallagher, Skipp(?) is pretty good to build on. Could do with another option at 10 unless Devine and Donley can step up next season

Most probably the end for Locelso and Hojbjerg. I wouldn't be surprised if Skipp leaves in summer either.

Belgium football sources are convinced Spurs are going to sign Japanese CB Machida for circa £10m/£15m.

Ange having bought a couple of Japanese players to Celtic gives this story some credibility, but it could well be he is one of several alternative CB's we've lined up .

I think if this does happen then it would be goodbye to Skipp and Pierre by the Summer.

In fact if it happens in January then Pierre will be gone by month end.

Love both of them but they look lost in the Ange system.

Because Skipp and Pierre offer us so much more.

At a time when we are desperate for squad strength in depth, your now wanting to turn down a proven midfielder who is a very good all around player.

Son and Kulu said post match that it was difficult sustaining current fitness levels in Ange's system. Even Ange admitted that. Fucking obvious we need to upgrade in midfield.

If Gallagher joined us from Blackburn or Coventry you'd be pulling one off with excitement.

More than likely will not happen, but picky fuckers not seeing the bigger picture don't understand what Ange is trying to do.

You've got this wrong.

Sanchez was named as a sub up until the Burnley match 2/9/23, he was then sold 2 days later.

Dier then came back into the squad against Sheffield Utd on the 16th
