Character important, but forsake quality?

Bit scary.
Not when you listen to the whole of what he said. You're cherry picking.

A certain player might have all the quality in the World, but if he has a detrimental impact on the dressing room, it affects the team as a whole.

He also said that he doesn't believe there is a huge difference between top tier and the next tier down, which I think there's a great deal if truth to.

Nothing scary whatsoever in what he said, quite the opposite actually.

Tottenham have a fight on their hands to keep hold of right-back Pedro Porro with high-flying Girona targeting a move for the Spaniard, Tottenham News has been told.

Since joining Spurs initially on loan from Sporting CP in January before a £39million permanent switch in the summer, Porro has quickly become a fan favourite at the club.

The 24-year-old has enjoyed a fantastic start to his first full season in north London, nailing himself down as one of the first names on Ange Postecoglou’s teamsheet at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

However, it seems the Lilywhites could have to fend off some interest for the right-back. A recruitment source with links to Spurs has told Tottenham News that he has been made aware that La Liga side Girona are interested in an unexpected swoop for Porro.

Girona have been the surprise package in Spain this season, currently sitting second in La Liga with Real Madrid on 45 points, behind only on goal difference, and seven points ahead of Atletico Madrid and FC Barcelona.

Tottenham News has been told that the Catalonian club are looking to build a squad which can compete with the giants of Spanish football in the long term, and have identified Porro as the perfect player to fit into their project.

Porro previously played for Girona before joining Manchester City in August 2019, although his career at the Etihad never quite took off, and he eventually sealed a permanent transfer to Sporting Lisbon after an initial loan spell in Portugal.

Tottenham News has also learned that both Real Madrid and Barcelona could be set to rival Girona for Porro’s signature, with the Spanish giants both keeping an eye on the defender’s progress in the Premier League.

Porro could be tempted by a move back to his home country, despite his recent rise to prominence in the Premier League.

I don't see mention in the article that Porro has a contract with Spurs lasting until 2028.

Was that an oversight ?

That length of contract means buyer has pretty minimal chance of buying ..... unless maybe its the first billion pound bid !

Wtf is this excrement of an article

But then you think Johnson for 50m starts to make (Ange) sense. And that’s the slightly scary bit.

Probably yeah.
I don't think anyone believes they will spend 100m plus on Porro.

Looks like Dragusin is the man we want.

Most TFC posters said Van de Ven had lot of potential but he had to be bought as well as Tapsoba - he wasn't good enough to be a first team starter right away. Completely wrong of course, as we signed Van de Ven without Tapsoba ....... and found Van de Ven was unexpectedly a fantastic CB straight away. And played precisely how we wanted a CB to play.

So applying the same logic, Dragusin is going to prove to be a very decent CB if we buy him and not Todibo - Dragusin is aged 21 (Todibo 23) so plenty of time to coach his passing and other stuff to improve him if necessary. But they key is going to be he's an aggressive and fast CB, maybe without some of the frills. Ange might need to calm him down a little to stop him picking up too many yellow cards but I think that 'being on the edge' is part of his game so its going to be a balancing act.
That part of his play doesn't sound great, Ange is struggling with indiscipline as it is.
