Transfers January Transfer Thread 2024

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Of course ask questions. But there's a difference (imo) between that and writing someone off. We (and I include myself in that) are far too quick to judge a player sometimes. I've seen Brenners perform brilliantly for Wales, and I know there's a player there.

We're a step up from Nottingham and I'm sure he'll adapt and come back, and I feel I've seen enough of him to believe that.

He's in no way been as poor as some people are suggesting.

And dat's all I gots to say about that

Mate, it's not exactly as though I have written him off, is it?

I think you overreacted to what i was saying somewhat. I like him, I want him to do well but I need to see more from him is basically my point. I am not easily swayed by new signings and don't offer unconditional support until it is earned. BJ has not yet earned that.

Anyway, box on.

OK go and get the same kind of player for free then, good luck.

Juventus is still in the race to sign Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, but time is running out for them to secure the Danish midfielder.

The Bianconeri faced midfield setbacks in the first half of the season, and the current transfer window presents an opportunity for them to strengthen that position.

Having expressed interest in Hojbjerg, encouraged by his status as a non-guaranteed starter at Tottenham, Juventus has, however, made little progress over several months. It appears unlikely that they will complete a deal for the former Bayern Munich player before the end of this month.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, Juventus’s best offer remains a loan move with an option to buy, while Spurs is insistent on an outright sale. Financial constraints prevent Juventus from affording a permanent transfer, and Tottenham has not budged from its position.

As a result, Juventus is likely to miss out on adding Hojbjerg to their squad and may opt to sign another player instead of the Danish midfielder.

Juve FC Says

Hojbjerg would be an ideal midfielder for us because he is combative and very experienced.

However, we cannot sign him unless Spurs agree to our condition because we have limitations to consider.

But there are other midfielders who could do a similarly good job for us if we add them to our squad.

Well that’s that then, he’s staying

Do you always believe every story you read online?
No, and the point of my post wasn't that.

My point was, for £30 million and him being a great prospect, you don't fuck about over £5 mill when that much means almost nothing to us.

You pay up, so such an event doesn't happen and you lose the player to another team.

Whether the accurate/true or not, I couldn't careless. The point above still remains.

2024 has arrived, and with it comes a fresh dose of chaos in the form of the January transfer window.
It’s usually a period where there are few big deals done, with clubs more focused on loan deals or outgoings of unused players during this period.
However, with clubs looking to become ever more thrifty under the watchful eyes of Financial Fair Play enforcers, the free agency market is one that most will be perusing through.
Premier League, LALIGA, WSL and more. The world's best football is on Optus Sport. Sign up here.
There are a huge number of players who will be out of contract at their current club come June 30 but January 1 is an important date, as it is the date where clubs can begin negotiating with these soon-to-be out-of-contract stars.
However, under English FA laws, players can’t negotiate with or sign a pre-contract agreement with a team within the same league – so a player currently at a Premier League club cannot sign a pre-contract agreement with another Premier League club. They can only open talks a month before their contract expires.
The rule is there in a bid to avoid conflicts of interest in the event a player may face their future club before leaving their current one.
Premier League clubs are, however, able to sign pre-contract agreements with players from teams in other leagues.
Here’s who’s currently available as a free agent in come June 30…
