Pretty sure when they say "Nice don't want to sell him for now" they mean Nice don't want to sell him for the money Spurs are offering for now.

If Chelsea pick him up for a reasonable price, it's going to be pretty annoying, if we really thought he was better than Dragusin.

Good piece on him in todays GFFN

Personally, I like him. Admittedly I've not seen much of Dragusin - I watched his last game v Inter and he looked decent enough. But on pure ability and all round package I like Todibo - but I have seen lots more of him. Seems like he's matured a bit too.

2024 has arrived, and with it comes a fresh dose of chaos in the form of the January transfer window.
It’s usually a period where there are few big deals done, with clubs more focused on loan deals or outgoings of unused players during this period.
However, with clubs looking to become ever more thrifty under the watchful eyes of Financial Fair Play enforcers, the free agency market is one that most will be perusing through.
Premier League, LALIGA, WSL and more. The world's best football is on Optus Sport. Sign up here.
There are a huge number of players who will be out of contract at their current club come June 30 but January 1 is an important date, as it is the date where clubs can begin negotiating with these soon-to-be out-of-contract stars.
However, under English FA laws, players can’t negotiate with or sign a pre-contract agreement with a team within the same league – so a player currently at a Premier League club cannot sign a pre-contract agreement with another Premier League club. They can only open talks a month before their contract expires.
The rule is there in a bid to avoid conflicts of interest in the event a player may face their future club before leaving their current one.
Premier League clubs are, however, able to sign pre-contract agreements with players from teams in other leagues.
Here’s who’s currently available as a free agent in come June 30…

I've been quite impressed by Wan-Bissaka recently.
It's gone quiet on Kelly.
Edit: Kelly has a long term injury.

Not really been following this one, but looking into it; I'm not sure why Genoa would sell in Jan. They are 2nd in La Liga and he's under contract till 2027. Why would they compromise a potential champions league place?
Good point about the 2027 contract but Drag plays for Genoa in Serie A not Girona in La Liga.
Genoa are near the relegation zone so maybe getting rid of their best(?) player without a replacement not really top of their list?

Serie A champions Napoli are ready to make an offer for Tottenham target and Genoa defender Radu Drăgușin.

Spurs have been speaking to Genoa about the 21-year-old defender, who has agreed personal terms with the Lilywhites. Get Italian Football News have already reported that talks are an advanced stage and are progressing in the right direction.

Sky Italia have now reported about Napoli’s developing interest in the Romanian. The Partenopei have been interested in the ex-Juve man but hadn’t made an offer, but it seems as if they would be ready to offer €20 million plus defender Leo Ostigaard to land the Genoa man.

Spurs, so far, have offered €22 million whereas Genoa’s current demand stands at €35 million. That is a vital point in the negotiations and is causing a delay in the completion of the move.

Atalanta were also linked with a move for the player but they haven’t made a move so far.

Pretty sure when they say "Nice don't want to sell him for now" they mean Nice don't want to sell him for the money Spurs are offering for now.

I wouldn't be surprised if they sell him, but they're also second in Ligue 1, so they probably don't want to sell one of their CBs in January.

seeing Modric in a spurs shirt next season would be amazing. Even for 1 year. He still has a soft spot for spurs too.
Sorry but Have to disagree with you on this one. Modric tried to force his way out of the club and get a move to Blue Scum.

Not gonna be happy but I will maybe somewhat understand if you force a move to Bayern/Madrid/maybe even City. But you try to force a move to Chavs and you’re dead to me.

Secretly met with Chavs war criminal owner behind our back to try and engineer a move - and later bragged about it in his book. Piss poor behavior. Can’t forget and won’t forgive. Would never welcome him back.

Anybody watched him play?

Whilst Ange Postecoglou deserves credit for how quickly he implemented his style of play at Tottenham Hotspur, which has so far made for a more entertaining watch than Antonio Conte's more combative system, his side have struggled for results at times due to a lack of squad depth. Their latest Premier League defeat against Brighton & Hove Albion once again exposed the problems yet to be solved and problems that must be solved this month.
With that said, reports suggest that the Lilywhites could turn to a Championship gem to add some much-needed steel to their squad in a deal that would see them get one over on North London rivals Woolwich, as well as Liverpool.

Tottenham transfer news

With Spurs' talks advancing over a deal to sign Genoa centre-back Radu Dragusin, those in North London could turn their attention elsewhere in the squad when it comes to their next improvement. Keeping with Postecoglou's transfer policy of welcoming young players, Spurs are eyeing up a Championship midfielder a Premier League move this month, as per reports, as they look to rediscover the early season form that put them in the top four and even in discussions about the title race.
According to Sunderland Nation, Spurs have sent scouts to watch Dan Neil, who has also attracted the interest of Liverpool, Woolwich and Sporting CP as Sunderland ready themselves for a battle to keep hold of the 22-year-old.
If Spurs want to land the midfielder, then they may need to act quickly given interest elsewhere. If they do secure Neil's signature, he will hand them a boost when it comes to finding homegrown players as well as adding to their squad depth.

The fact that Neil's current Sunderland contract is not set to expire until 2026 could make it a tough deal to negotiate, however, with the Black Cats in a strong position to keep the Englishman ahead of their own promotion battle in the Championship
In a Sunderland side battling for a place in the play-offs, Neil has been one of the standouts. Still only 22, he could yet get even better too, making now the perfect time for Spurs to pursue a deal. Here's how Neil's stats this term compare to current Spurs midfielders Yves Bissouma and Pape Matar Sarr, albeit in an inferior league.

PlayerProgressive CarriesProgressive PassesTackles WonInterceptions
Dan Neil451892523
Yves Bissouma31883120
Pape Matar Sarr27921717
Given how well he's performed for the Black Cats, it's no surprise that Neil has been at the centre of praise in the Championship, including from former Sunderland player Kevin Phillips.

Phillips told The Sunderland Echo: "The player that has stood out to me is Dan Neil. I covered him for Sky in the Woolwich and Doncaster game and he was brilliant in both. He did really, really well. He is a good all round player who has a bit of everything. A young lad who certainly has an old head. He plays like someone who has been around a long time. I think he’s been the standout player this season, not just over the festive period. He’s got a big future ahead of him, that’s for sure.”

Norwich are 13th in the Championship this season, but could see themselves becoming part of the battle for the play-off positions if their form continues. After a slow start to the season, they have now improved, only losing two of their last eight league games. This sees them only five points off the top six.

Manager David Wagner has already said that he wants his team to not get too carried away with looking at the league table, and for them to just focus on the next game as he wants to keep his team grounded in their hunt for a finish in the top six.

This January window could be key for the Canaries, as they look to bolster their squad, and try and keep hold of their star players in the next month.
One man who has starred for Norwich this season is Jonathan Rowe, with his brilliant form reportedly catching the eye of Premier League clubs Brighton & Hove Albion and Tottenham Hotspur, according to a report from the Daily Mail (31/12 paper edition; page 84).

The 20-year-old is the Canaries' top scorer so far this season, scoring ten goals in 24 Championship games so far this season, whilst also claiming two assists.

The winger has already garnered plenty of attention from Premier League clubs in the past, with Wolves reportedly having a £15 million bid for him rejected in the summer transfer window.

So it could be tough to keep hold of the England under-21 international in January, but the player's contract does not expire until 2025, so Norwich are in no rush to cash in this wind
