I don't want Werner but it is what is. The squad is not good enough, yes I know we've done well to be where we are. We need two CBs and anyone else like vermaelen, Cirkin we can get in means less to do during the summer.

Some of that business may have to wait until the summer... Dunno, I guess we'll soon find out

For me, not a popular opinion here but, I'd keep Hojbjerg until the summer as opposed to splashing the cash for a midfielder. I'd keep that space open for Alfie Devine or Jamie Donley. Either of those wouldh be fine behind Lo Celso. Sarr, Maddison, Bemtancur and Bissouma (+Kulusevski perhaps) going into next season

The obvious sticking point there is Lo Celso which, depending on what happens, could see us having to buy a replace, emt

No disrespect, my old friend. But I haven't seen any evidence whatsoever that he has pushed for Werner. Apart from the odd random piece who's source would normally be regarded as clickbait bullshit
Same sources that said Conte 'greenlit' the Spence deal which must be why he played so much for him...

...also seem to recall mouthpiece Ally Gold talking a load of shit saying how professional he was during training and how impressed everyone was.

I think PEH will stay anyway. He doesn't want to go to a lesser clubs and Italian and Spanish clubs can't afford him.

Dragusin is becoming a bit of a saga and one I wouldn't be that surprised to see go pear-shaped at this stage. Obviously none of us are privy to the negotiations, so we don't know what's happening...and the Italian sports media, bar the famous pink sheet, are quite unreliable.

Are Genoa being overly difficult, moving the goalposts, playing us against Napoli & co? Is the player's rep messing about? Does the player really wanna leave ahead of the Euros? Or is that us being too tight, trying to renegotiate...the so-called 'usual Spurs tactics' as POK referred to the other day?

None of us fucking knows zilch, but whatever is happening, it's a (slight) worry that it's now Jan 7th and we still haven't brought in a new CB, considering how massive a need it is, even more so now that Big Ben's out (yes, I know Micky is on his way back but).

I'd really love to know:

A. When the Dragu convo started
B. If he even is Ange's first choice
C. Who is the plan B if/when the Radu deal goes to shit...and how quickly can we turn that backup round

Forget about Werner, a new CM, Dier & other deadwood leaving/not...this window was all about a new CB.

Let's stay positive and hope we do bring in the Romanian Hulk or another one of big Ange's wishes ahead of Utd, yet if we were to end the month without a new CB, surely the club owes us fans a proper no-bs explanation. Don't even wanna imagine the uproar on here...can already hear Tottenham Massive Tottenham Massive & Richard Arlison Richard Arlison sharpening their daggers.
They won't be alone. Not signing a decent CH this window would be criminal negligence.

Good job we are.

Sheffield United have signed one player on loan, the other 19 PL clubs have signed ZERO players on loan so far this January

All 20 PL clubs have failed to sign a single player on a permanent basis.

Nothing to do with anyone being overly difficult, its just the process is not easy

The reality is signing players (ie getting agreement between 2 clubs, the player, various agents and not to mention player partners/family who can suddenly stop deals happening) takes more time and effort than most people understand.

And that's not to mention that there are very few players available in January that most fans would want to see at their club - most players do not want to move mid season and prefer to stay with their current clubs.

And that's why Spurs are in the same position as all other PL clubs as of today - nobody has signed a player (except Sheffield United ....... who are more than willing to accept new Sheffield United fans from other clubs wanting to celebrate a new signing :D :D :D )

So, sadly, its dreams of new players versus reality !

So its time for 🙏 and hope next week for a new signing or two !

Good point about the Euros.
