Sheffield United have signed one player on loan, the other 19 PL clubs have signed ZERO players on loan so far this January
All 20 PL clubs have failed to sign a single player on a permanent basis.
Nothing to do with anyone being overly difficult, its just the process is not easy
The reality is signing players (ie getting agreement between 2 clubs, the player, various agents and not to mention player partners/family who can suddenly stop deals happening) takes more time and effort than most people understand.
And that's not to mention that there are very few players available in January that most fans would want to see at their club - most players do not want to move mid season and prefer to stay with their current clubs.
And that's why Spurs are in the same position as all other PL clubs as of today - nobody has signed a player (except Sheffield United ....... who are more than willing to accept new Sheffield United fans from other clubs wanting to celebrate a new signing
So, sadly, its dreams of new players versus reality !
So its time forand hope next week for a new signing or two !

I don't think my requests are really that unreasonable, 2 CBs, one in time for the Utd game, strengthen in a few areas where we can so there is less work to do in the summer. Who wouldn't want that?

You’ve been given plenty of reasons why what you’re asking for is unrealistic. No EPL team (other than Sheffield) has made a signing — several, perhaps the majority, won’t. Data shows that there’s about a tenth of the movement in January as there is in Summer and you’re still expecting
‘2 CBs and strengthen in other areas’.

That’s the easy bit. It’s staying up that will be alien to him because even when there’s no pressure in the ball Ange still wants them to stay high. That actually goes against what every defender gets taught. Defenders naturally want to drop because they don’t want done in behind. Guys like VDV and VVD love it because they know they can recover. Most can’t. I love it though and I’m pretty sure if he does sign he’ll deal with it.
The question is have you seen what other clubs have managed in January in the past to assess whether your request is reasonable or not.
Just to give you an example ManU (far more money than us) signed 3 loanees last January, the best of them being Wout Weghorst (ex Burnley striker).
So chances of any club signing two good players permanently in January ...... is low

Dragusin is becoming a bit of a saga and one I wouldn't be that surprised to see go pear-shaped at this stage. Obviously none of us are privy to the negotiations, so we don't know what's happening...and the Italian sports media, bar the famous pink sheet, are quite unreliable.
Are Genoa being overly difficult, moving the goalposts, playing us against Napoli & co? Is the player's rep messing about? Does the player really wanna leave ahead of the Euros? Or is that us being too tight, trying to renegotiate...the so-called 'usual Spurs tactics' as POK referred to the other day?
None of us fucking knows zilch, but whatever is happening, it's a (slight) worry that it's now Jan 7th and we still haven't brought in a new CB, considering how massive a need it is, even more so now that Big Ben's out (yes, I know Micky is on his way back but).
I'd really love to know:
A. When the Dragu convo startedB. If he even is Ange's first choiceC. Who is the plan B if/when the Radu deal goes to shit...and how quickly can we turn that backup round
Forget about Werner, a new CM, Dier & other deadwood leaving/not...this window was all about a new CB.

He'll be fine.
He's a pro footballer, he'd have been taught how to stay in line, he's probably marshaled a few in his time at Genoa. He'll be taught to stay in line with van de Ven and would have likely had at least two training sessions preferably before starting either way.
