Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

He might be making £100k pw tops at Palace with his new contract, so zero need to double it.

And I'd expect him to have a release clause in his new contract (otherwise his agent has tied him to Palace for life) and no point in agreeing a big release clause as he's similarly stuck for life (he's 25 now)

Hard to say for sure..... Zaha's last contract was 130kpw and he signed that about 3/4 years ago.

Adjusted for inflation I could easily see Eze on similar; otherwise what's he even signing a new deal for? ......Same as Olise.

I am no doubt that there are people on this forum who, whether intentionally or not, have spent so much energy and time hating on Levy that now they actually hate Levy more than they love Spurs. That's not saying they are not still Spurs fans - they are - but their joy and vitriol at Levy making a fuck-up is ostensibly greater than their joy when Spurs do well. As was mentioned earlier, for some it's psychological, it has become an obsession; for other it's just about being 'right'. It's not many posters, but undoubtedly a few on here.
Surely nobody, nobody at all, if faced with a dilemma of "do you want Spurs to succeed or Daniel Levy to fail" are going to hit option 2. No one.

I fucking deteste the man, but I could happily suck it up if he learned from his mistakes and we prosper as a result.
I genuinely don't believe there is a Spurs fan in existence that feels differently.

I think it's time for an apology, once again you doubted the great man but as per usual, King Levy has pulled through yet again! 💪 💪💪💪

You all called threw your go karts out the stadium, you all wet your beds, smashed your keyboards like cats

I have always, ALWAYS said I will praise Daniel Levy and the powers that be when it is merited.
Unfortunately, it has not been warranted very much in recent times, but of course, I am delighted we have managed to get a signing in an absolute priority position done relatively early in the window.

I know your post is somewhat tongue in cheek, but let’s not get too over excited or start mutually climaxing over Levy just yet.

It’s a 25 million signing in a position that we simply HAD to get a player in. There was virtually no wriggle room.

Let’s hope he proves to be a good player for us and he’s ready for the game this weekend.:)

Yeah but most importantly, did you sign the form?

Bayern fans are a strange bunch.

Must be odd to support a club that wins everything. You have to invent outrage.
Especially with no clear cut rival to push you along.

Real Madrid have always had Barcelona. Juventus have Inter, AC Milan and Napoli. Man United have Liverpool. We have Chelsea and Woolwich. Even if we don't regularly compete for trophies we always have the rivalry with them lot to push the team and drive the season forward. Same for all the other rivalries mentioned.

The closest thing that Bayern have is Dortmund. Who's main rival is Schalke.

Palace have got a track record of slapping on the golden handcuffs. Contract was only extended to 2027 so I'd be surprised if there was a no release clause. Way more expensive than Gallagher now (not that I want him).

Weird age to sign that kind of deal though.... He's 25 now.... He'll be 26 at the end of this season and thus 29 at the end of his new deal.

TBH, smacks of Zaha to me. Happy to be a handsomely paid big fish in a little pond. He had the opportunity to have leverage to get a transfer, either this window or next, and handed it in by signing a new longterm deal.
I’m not sure that’s entirely fair.

If I remember correctly, it was only an 18 month or two year extension and there could still be an agreement on the sort of the sum that would be required for the player to move.

Why would a player be so altruistic? More often than not, good players available on low fees get larger signing bonuses on their new contracts. Conversely, any minimum buyout could provide a potential stumbling block. Perhaps City likes him, but not £50M, so he ends up at Spam who are the only club that meets his fee.

This concept that players "owe" anything to their existing clubs is bizarre to me, and, thankfully, increasingly out of fashion. They have a contract to play football for a club, that's all they owe to a club.

I'd have Eze if he'd come, but I still think he's more likely than not the new Zaha.

Its not about a player being altruistic at all.

Most players want to be ambitious, have a decent career and earn lots of money.

He's on a decent wedge of maybe £100k pw at Palace and probably got a decent signing on fee too - but could earn a lot more at Spurs or other bigger club in europe.

Equally he isn't going to play european football at Palace.

So for all reasons, why tie yourself to Palace for life when you could test yourself in europe and earn more at Spurs.

But if he wants a quiet uneventful life, then he's probably not right for Ange football !
