That set up and half of football is exactly why I would rather have an Eze in our squad than a Gallagher.

You could put Bentancur in the 6 and have Eze doing the Maddison things.

Edit
Just to add. My point is if we buy Gallagher, that half doesn’t change much.

In this parallel universe your'e leaning on; Eze was out injured today.

Don't think we'll bring anyone in outside of a CM if PEH goes.

Tbh I don't think we need to. With our full squad we can mount a title challenge.

Summer is about upgrading the attack and the cover at full back.

Think we need another world class striker/goal scorer rather than world class midfielder. Richy was decent today, but on the whole he is an Aldi verson of Kane. Near impossible to find mind you, especially at the money we are likely to be spending.
Dont like a midfield containing both Skipp and Hoijberg, would keep Skipp for now, but ultimately both need upgrading on. Hoijberg just does not work in our Angeball, too slow, too ponderous and gives away possession way to often as not able to cope under pressure. A fit Lo Celso I would keep, but unfortunately this does not happen anywhere near often enough, pity Barca have no money.
We need to shift the remaining unwanted out of the club, but we need money for them, otherwise we are likely to face FFP issues down the line. If FFP does become an ongoing factor for clubs in the premiership then Levy will be rubbing his hands, for all his faults and he has many, balancing the books and ensuring we are within FFP should be one of his strengths and he will be like a vulture picking the bones of those in FFP trouble.

Everton, again? How?

Also, when is Man City's case resolved?

Also. It’s a different and much more complex case with City.

With Everton it’s straightforward- they’ve simply posted losses for 2019-22 which were about 200m in excess of the 105m limit for a three year period. They've done the same for 2020-23 but by much less I think.

With ManC it's more complicated. They aren't posting losses, or excessive FFP losses, they are basically accused of fiddling the system, creative (or fraudulent) accounting and fake/inflated sponsorships.

it’s beyond obvious to me now.

If we do not acquire a world class midfielder - and not just a great one like Maddison, I mean true. WORLD. CLASS.

If we do not add world class midfield talent this project is simply doomed, with a ceiling of 5th and a fun cup run here and there.

The gap between our midfield talent and the top teams is a massive gulf. It is our single biggest weakness and area of improvement. We must get world class quality or potential, don’t fucking talk to me about Gallagher.
I disagree

The front line is the area in most need of a real injection of quality for me

Gibbs-White keeps getting mentioned but he's one of those that expects to play and doesn't react well when he doesn't. He's a no.10 so I don't see it happening or see him passing the Ange test.

He would be playing in Maddison/Kulusevski/Lo Celso and perhaps Donley’s position should he come. Can’t see it.
