Which is why I didn’t argue we need world class right now. But we do need a player with the potential to be a transformative midfield lynchpin. That’s what we’re missing.

So if management, who should know and understand the ffp/sustainability rules is incompetent or ignores the rules and incurs huge costs in one year than yes it could screw the club a couple of times - they are the rules all the PL clubs agreed including Everton.

Worth debunking a couple of lies - all costs relating to stadium adjusted so as not to affect the ffp result, everton's claimed covid costs excluded from the calculation were about 2 or 3 times higher than any other clubs etc. So Everton's management incurred huge costs they knew or should have known would fail ffp/sustainability rules their club had agreed to !

Same as being caught doing 150 mph on a uk motorway - its not a defence to say 'ooh I didn't realise there was a speed limit'

Sometimes with players you have to make sure it’s not a purple patch though. If he’s been a good prospect for a while and we’ve had our eye on him for a few years then fine. But basing him on 20 odd games is dangerous.

Bissouma is world class at his best , but is inconsistent and rash at times. Needs to work hard on that and he can be incredible for us. Madders and Bentancur have a good shout for being in a Prem XI alongside De Bruyne.

Prem 11 is getting interesting

Madders will always struggle because of KDB in the same position. Bentancur absolutely has a shout as the B2B 8, Rodri the 6.

Romero is Prem 11, Udogie is Prem 11, Son is Prem 11. Porro getting there but TAA would still get the most votes.

If we are saying that we have 4 in the Prem 11 that's still not bad going for now.
