I tell you what is hillarous, the complete one eighty on Yves Bissouma. Okay he had a form dip, and with it gave the ball away a bit, he seemed weary and was consequently caught out trying to retrieve errors so started lunging a bit, one such episode saw him sent off. The dive inexcusable and rightly punished but its part of modern football. Prior to this sequence he was consistently excellent people in those first ten games were saying he was BETTER than Dembele. He was not but likewise he isn't now some shit liability easily bettered by some child in Argentina.Hi, my name is Federico Redondo. I'm 20 yo and to date I've played 35 league games, of which 19 have been starts. My first season I played an average of 30 mins and in my second, 60. My team is a midtable side in Argentina.
And yet, cause my dad was a superhero, there are some on TFC who see me as the next big thing. I should be replacing Bissouma and I'm in the same category as WZE, even though the PSG wunderkind has over 50 league games to his name + a regular starter in the CL + now playing for France.
Pal, I'm not having a go at you and I ain't saying the great Fernando (one of my all-time favourites) has a dud for a kid but come on, let's be real...the vast majority of those talking about him know nothing about the kid and all they've seen is his HL reel.
Dig deeper and it seems pretty clear & obvious (no need for VAR) that he isn't yet ready for the top level and that unless he suddenly gets hit by a magic lightning bolt, he's at the bare minimum 3 years away from being in the convo for a role in a team like ours, let alone a starring one.
He has been made a lynchpin in a big team for the first time in his career, and will have to grow into the role but the idea there are tons of midfield six type players better than him is just recency bias. Like the whole team he suffered from the injuries to the settled side around him, in particular the loss of Maddison. He has a massive part to play in our short to medium term future and I suspect he's going to make a few people look daft when he regains form and fitness.
