Every big club does this. But the main difference with us, is we hold onto these dead end players for faaar too long! We need to be much more ruthless with who comes and goes
This has been the problem since about year two of the Poch tenure.

Porch did a fantastic job being cutthroat when he came in. I’ve said before the start of the downfall was him eventually choosing favourites.

We keep hold of our dead weights for far too long and I also believe we don’t cash in properly, either.

Liverpool cashed in on Coutinho, their “talisman” at the time, and use the funds to rebuild a squad.

Highsight is 20/20 but we could have gotten a kings ransom for Dele. The higher ups at Spurs are paid handsomely to make these tough decisions all they’ve done recently is sit on their hands and watch our best investments depreciate at alarming rates.

Did you see the game today? Or against Scum? Those performances are all on the players. There's no chance Ange is coaching them to mess up a 3v2 by passing backwards.
Newcastle away was on Ange. Those 2 other games weren't.

Yep we had more chances against Arse than they did us but where as they are ruthless we are indecisive and that is the players fault.

Newcastle was just appalling though, weak as piss.

Did he have favourites or just a small core of players that were good enough? The latter for me

For those of you that are Ange out, please make one rational argument why a different coach would succeed where Redknapp, Jol, Poch, Jose, and Conte all failed?

Why would their fate be any different to sacking another manager after 1 season?

Make one rational argument why this manager will do much better in his second season. Just because it happened at Celtic or whatever the fuck he managed before doesn’t make a rational argument.

What makes you think objectively that we’ll do better next season?

Redknapp out of all of those would last longer just because he is a genuine pragmatist tactically (not defensive coach like Jose) and is elite at getting the sum out of the parts working with what he has and amending based on opposition. That is until he pisses off Levy on a personal level a few years later.

Well according to Neville teams defended more centrally against us as the season went on meaning our wingers and striker needed to link more to break them down which they aren’t as good at as they should be.
When that happens- you bomb the fucking box with crosses and outside shots until you break them. Son is an absolute ghost of a presence in a crowded box and insisting on playing him in such inevitable situations is making Ange look like a naive fool.

If he doesn’t win another game this season he’ll have to go. No spurs manager can lose 7 in a row. 4 is bad enough, I don’t care who we are playing.

Sure.

Redknapp took over a team bottom of the league, finished 8th, then 4th in the next season in a time the big 4 seemed unbreakable. Also we played great football.

Conte took over when we were 9th and couldn’t hit the target to save our lives and finished 4th and we played good football with mostly shit players.

Poch took over after a depressing season of AVB & Sherwood football, finished 5th, showed some signs of his brand of football, though not very consistent. Had to play Mason and Bentaleb as his CM pairing, and Fazio as CB (lol). Then the rest is history.

Don’t know about Jol, didn’t have EPL broadcast back then where I live.

And I didn’t rate Mourinho.

Now your turn.

So you'd have kept Nuno on then? you though it was a mistake to get rid of him?

Yeah this is definitely the same as Nuno isn't' it.

We accumulated 0.08xg against Crystal Palace with Kane and Son ffs, sackable offence. 😆

Ange has credit in the bank from his start which he's built up anyway, I know we're out of form now but what's happening now isn't going to discount the first half of the season.

How did Redknapp and Poch fail? One took us to CL, the other to CL final, ECL final and near the title. Is that failure? Atm, we have lost four games in a row which I'm sure never happened under these two. We go to every game with at least 2 goals conceded before the kick-off. We suck atm and this needs to change.

Son is the captain so it’s hard. At some point there is going to be a conversation, he will end up as a super sub or sold. Pace reliant players decline early 30’s. Son and Salah are at the end period in this league despite their goals today.

I agree with you it’s hard to bench the Captain, and I love Son and respect his career with us. But leadership is about making really tough and painful decisions. We need to be stronger as leaders.

Few managers make such harsh decisions. Maybe Jose would. A player like that gets move gently in the summer not humiliated mid season.

Yet they all failed.

The question was why would any new manager succeed where they all failed?
