Yet they all failed.

The question was why would any new manager succeed where they all failed?
They didn't all initially fail, bar Nuno. There's a degree of success there, for all of them, cup finals, 4th placed finishes etc., albeit without silverware.

The wheels fell off for all of them when the player's downed tools. That over-riding culture isn't ultimately Ange's fault, that's systematic of Levy and the club in general. But the awful style of play and tactical naivety is ultimately on him. And he will pay the price for it.

I'm all in, I will die on this hill with Ange and use this thread for maintaining my ignore list. Fuck y'all for spamming it with negativity.

For those of you that are Ange out, please make one rational argument why a different coach would succeed where Redknapp, Jol, Poch, Jose, and Conte all failed?

Why would their fate be any different to sacking another manager after 1 season?

I think there are quite a few coaches out there that would do a better job than Ange. Silva and Emery would have us much harder to beat with our current squad.

They are far more organised than we are, the structure is more solid.

Look there is no doubt our attack sucks and we need better quality upfront, for me Kulu needs to go. 1 goal in 18 games and he simply is never a threat, and Johnson is nothing more than a back up player at his current level, but Ange's system is the big issue for us. We are far too open and exposed and that simply won't change next season.

Winning things is success.

Losing cup finals is losing.

The sooner we step out of that comfort zone and hold this club accountable to the level of success comparable to the prices they charge to support it, the sooner we realize it’s not the answer to sack another manager in case they don’t achieve the level of failure we are used to.

Time to do something different, no matter how uncomfortable that feels right now.

Yeah this is definitely the same as Nuno isn't' it.

We accumulated 0.08xg against Crystal Palace with Kane and Son ffs, sackable offence. 😆

Ange has credit in the bank from his start which he's built up anyway, I know we're out of form now but what's happening now isn't going to discount the first half of the season.
Hmm, Nuno was worse I'll give you that but remember his back 4 was appalling, Ange has got far better individual players and we've kept 6 clean sheets all season.

Our metrics post those first 10 games of this season are bad all over the board. So it's not half a season of credit he has, it's less. We have beaten 1 top half team since the start of the year and we've all seen how the team has regressed in front of our eyes, culminating in these shameful performances of late.

I'm not saying I want him OUT but I've totally lost faith in him and yes I would replace him if a better manager was available

Did Redknapp and Poch fail? They made us great to watch and competitive which with our owners is likely as good as it gets. Thats why they were here for 3.5 and 5 years respectively. I dont think anyone expects an appointment that will sweep us to the title but hopefully one that isnt naive, is willing to try different things and who gets more out of the team than the sum of its parts would be a start.

I'd like to see some rational reasoning on why you think things will improve other than the vague hope that time and that he's apparently better in his second year? Where is the evidence from this season? No Europe this season should have had things starting to click ino place a bit by now, instead he chops and changes the team all the time and is throwing his coaching staff under the bus.

In all the time i've supported Tottenham i've seen 1 manager turn it around after a run of results like this and that was Keith Burkinshaw after getting relegated so we picked up in the old division 2. That was 47 years ago and a very different game.

For the first two (winning leagues/cups), you may do well and ask your ENIC buddies like Shadyfixx, see what excuse they have up their sleeves. But this discussion is irrelevant at this point, no one expects Postecoglou to win titles or cups, so no one wants him out because he’s failed that lol…

As for the sacking, most of them were sacked because they had a terrible run of results and we played turgid football? Not sure what you’re trying to get at here.

Since we’re all for talking POVs why don’t you tell us in your next post what has made you so hopeful that next season will be definitely better than this one.

How do you hold the club accountable when Levy ultimately doesn't care? And how far do we have to hold our nerve to watch the change? It WON'T happen. Any manager will pay the price because Levy doesn't have the patience. And ultimately it's a business and and entertainment medium - the match-going fans will make things quite clear on Saturday to Ange and Levy, I'm sure.

And there are only a finite amount of things available to win, which far richer clubs than us have the monopoly on. We obviously differ on what constitutes success. I'd much prefer taking the cups more seriously and they are a more viable thing to win, but the club wants 4th.

Totally fair for you to think that and it looks like some of our players may have lost faith in him a little especially after Chelsea but at least we saw a fight back today so that gives me a bit of hope.

I honestly think that we are lacking in 2 areas, personnel (obviously) and mentality, we are collectively weak, the former gets improved with transfer windows and the latter gets improved with more game time/experience.

I think though he's owed another year, at least personally.

They did fail. They failed better than Conte and Jose but still failed. Winning is binary in Sport.

Here the deal with Ange imo:

Success and development is never a straight line. We thought it would be easy because we had a hot start and then he honestly worked miracles to survive the worst injury and suspension crisis I can remember.

Just the way he’s stuck to his guns and got through that with 4 FBs and no Son or Maddison is enough for me to trust he knows what he’s doing.

The issue is that returning players somehow destabilised the team and the returning players have also been off form or burned out (Son). There’s now the issue of about 5 players that need to play but already know they aren’t needed next year (Emerson, PEH, Davies etc)

We are going through a brutally tough period and yet his principles and self belief aren’t even slightly shaken. The best coaches are stubborn to the point of arrogance and that’s exactly how I’d describe Ange. I’d love him to have fucked off the zonal marking weeks ago but he’s stubborn.

Next season he gets another pre season and another 3-4 players that came here for him. And this is my final point. Despite being benched and us getting thrashed, Maddison clearly hasn’t quit on Ange. Neither have VDV or Romero. We’ve seen it with recruiting, Ange has that ability to get buy in and deeply held belief from his players. That’s 90% of the battle.

It's far too exposed defensively. As soon as we're caught out like today with Porro up the pitch all we have is 2 cbs back and it's just absolute suicide.
Sadly this is true, how you can leave two CBs so exposed is staggering.
It's comic strip school boys own stuff, six clean sheets all season, just isn't good enough at any level.
I fear players maybe losing faith in him, luckily there are only a couple of games left, but we will probably concede in all three of them.
