Well, after 10 games, other prem teams figured out that playing Royal and Davies as our center back pair wasn't very good - bit still managed a 3-3 draw away at City.
We went on another decent run when Romero was back from suspension and Richarlison was finally fit. We won 11 out of 16 games, only losing 2 games to Wolves and Fulham.
There is no shame in losing to Liverpool, Woolwich and City towards the end of the season. They are better than us and all were playing for the title. Chelsea and Newcastle are could have gone our way, but the players on the pitch shit the bed with individual errors - not so much the system.
There is a long way to go before we can compete for the title but turning around 2 or 3 results next season with squad improvements is easily achievable.
I do, it means finding out how to outplay, outthink, and outmanoeuvre your opponent tactically to achieve victory.
Yet here we are, on the precipice of finishing 5th.
If you're a known quantity and can be solved as easily as picking an apple off a tree like some on here are making it out to be, then how the fuck are we 5th?
Nobody can answer that.
We've lost to last year's top 4 sides in the run-in to try to push for top 4. We fell short. No shame in that.
Problem is Ange created by being a moaning bitch.

Indeed after initial success - other EPL managers seem to have found out how to “outplay, outthink and outmanoeuvre” Ange’s tactics.
In the last 10 games, we’ve lost to EVERY ONE of last years Top Four sides with a minus 9 goal difference and lost to Fulham 3-0 and Chavs 2-0. But we did draw West Ham! And at their place!
So that’s 6 losses and 1 draw against Top half sides (and Fulham 14th in the table). If you don’t think that’s a shameful (or at least very vey concerning) run of games - then we’ll have to agree to disagree.
Maybe you take more comfort in beating relegation fodder - Forest, Luton and Burnley than I do.

Obviously I hope Ange succeeds but I genuinely don’t understand why some people are so confident that we won’t be mid table come December. If you’re in the fearing the worst - hoping for the best camp with me - then fine - but to look at recent results and be anything but really really concerned is puzzling (at least to me).

I believe 5th is as decent a platform as you'll get from a manager in his first season who lost arguably the best player in the league over the summer and wasn't replaced coupled with the 3rd worst injury crisis in the league.

Because that's not how football works, people can see the issues. it needs time and recruitment to sort out.
Agree to disagree it is. Hope you’re right and I'm wrong … but I fear the SPFL with Celtic may be Ange’s his level.
We played beautifully against City and with the injection of some quality players we’d be contending for the title next year

I think most fans will simply ask him why it took so long and in that game of all games to change things round.

yes up until christmas we had to use many second 11 players, so had to expect some poor results
but since the new year our results have been poor
trying to come back from 3 or 4 nil down WHY are we 3/4 nil down is the question to ask
this lack of changing play when we don't have Richy or our LB shows madness to me
Why put Royal or Skipp at LB when the best change was VDV & Drag as CB
Son as CF he has never played well as CF just doesn't like being bished & bashed, so play without a CF
Finally Ange changed against City we for me we look miles better than we have for a long time
Its OK when Ange says CL is not important or sign of progress But when we choose Stopping the gooners above CL we have it wrong,
