He's good at doing that.

Who’s celebrating? To a certain degree but we’ve still been shite since November but you celebrate the superb win against Burnley!
According to most, Emery is the manager of the year with his incredible Plan B's his incredible high level experience in European football that Ange can't claim to match.
btw, this is what Ange ACTUALLY said about fans:
"Of course it does. It is what it is. I can't dictate what people do," he remarked. "They're allowed to express themselves any way they want. But yeah, when we've got late winners in games it's because the crowd's helped us."
Everything else is a media created storm in a tea cup that Spurs fans have sucked up through a straw because they love to feel offended.
Gallagher is a good player, but he's Chelski through and through. He's desperate to stay there, but seems resigned to the fact that they need to sell players and he'll be one of the first ones out the door. Not really the kind of player I think we should be going for, hard to imagine his heart ever being in it on the pitch for us.
I stated no one other than Ramos has a worse record over 10 games, which is correct. All other managers that have had poor runs similar to this have been sacked either directly or soon after and that was my point about lack of scrutiny. I dont want him sacked but for all the bluster he needs to start winning games early next season or he'll go the same way as the names mentioned. That wasn't your point. Your point was no one had worse form in 20 years. Which was wrong.
Weve lost to Woolwich and City (two best teams in the country). Liverpool and Chelsea away (where we've won a grand total of 1 time in 15 years combined). And two stinkers to Newcastle and Fulham away.
I'd encourage you to look at the games the above managers lost or dropped points to during their runs of form.
And if we beat Sheffield Utd it'll be 6 points from his last 3.
2 PPG - 76 points over a season. Lovely jubbly.
I am going to disagree with some here but I think Ange comes out of this affair with some credit actually, he's clearly frustrated at the loser/no trophies mentality at Spurs and wants to change the club culture, I think that's admirable. It makes me laugh when you see the same old faces on here clogging up the 'let's laugh at Woolwich/Liverpool/Chelsea' (etc) threads and showing an utter lack of self-reflection. No one in football is laughing at Woolwich or Liverpool this season, even Chelsea seem to be turning it around. What all those clubs do is win stuff: ask any non-Spurs fan and they will say the same things about us - attractive football but flaky and don't actually achieve anything. I like that Ange wants to put a rocket under that and is disdainful of the corporate club culture as exemplified by the likes of Milsey (lol), good for him.
Where I have my criticisms is in how Ange sets up the team, and, in particular, he hasn't privileged a solid defence. I also have question marks whether he will bring in the right players. He can sure talk the talk but can he walk the walk - jury out for me on the basis of the past 10-25 games or so; i.e., this is not a few one-off results from poor refereeing, individual mistakes or whatever - these are systemic issues in how Ange sets up teams. I find that a lot more troubling than whether he goes on the front foot in a press conference, I don't think he said anything out of line.
True but we know of plenty of examples where managers have really liked a player and that plays a big role in whether they were brought in.Players will be much on the scouting and whether Levy gets the clubs cheque book out than Ange. A well run club it should be irrelevant if the manager is a good scout, that isn’t his job.
There's been a bit more up and down to it than shite since NovemberBut I wasn’t referring to just one game
Since November and the Chavs game we’ve been shite

2 ppg would be great, its a shame we cant play relegated teams every week.
It was entirely foreseeable that the focus would shift to the extraordinary spectacle of a team's fans supporting the opposition.
Surely those who cheered for City realised that ... ?

Funny that you bring up Kulu - because Gallagher is not good enuf - just like Kulu. The fact that he's a true blue chav cunt is secondary. Makes him less appealing but it's not the main issue.Who cares if he's Chelsea through and through? We need good players and he's homegrown so that counts for extra. We didn't dither Kulusevski because he wanted to play for Woolwich at one time did we? If a player is open to the move we should definitely go for it.
The single thing that will determine Ange’s success at the club is how we recruit for our forward line. That’s all it is.

Because generally managers are judged on the most recent results. Plenty were rightly getting excited after our first 10 so surely the same rules apply? Perhaps more so at the business end of a season.
Not sure that's true at all.
Lets look at last season. Last 19 games of 2022/23 - 8 wins, 3 draws, 8 losses. 1.42PPG (54 points over a season)
Two seasons before that? Last 19 games of 2020/21 - 9 wins, 2 draws, 8 losses. 1.53 PPG (58 points over a season)
Pochs last 19 games in charge? - 6 wins, 6 draws, 7 losses. 1.26 PPG (48 points over a season).
Go back even further. Redknapps last season in charge? 7 wins, 6 draws, 6 losses, 1.42PPG (54 points over a season)
Now if we beat Sheffield United, which we will do. This will be our last 19 games of 2023/24:
9 wins, 3 draws, 7 losses. 1.58 PPG (60 points over the course of a season).
By the way, let's look at Villas last 19 games (and let's just say they draw with Palace). 8 wins, 6 draws, 5 losses. 1.58 PPG. IDENTICAL to our half of the season in terms of points... Of course they could lose to Palace which means they'd have done worse in the last half of the season than we have...
This most definitely isn't our worst run of results since Ramos or in over 20 years at all. And if anything, shows us that this is usually a typical Tottenham season.
Start well. Tail off a bit. Hit some form again. Finish weak.
Yeah. You are one of my a favorite contributors for a reason and it's pretty much in every paragraph.Agree. First off i dont think there is any appetite for a change of manager this summer, you cant sack someone for getting (hopefully) 66 pts and 5th place in their first season. He has at least tried to get us playing front foot football after 5 years of suffer-ball. The intent is there even if not always successful. I'm happy he tried something different against City and that is a positive going forward.
But there is a feeling he is almost becoming the first 'post results' manager where its all quotes, soundbites, talk of Bill Nic and vibes. Apart from that Ramos spell we're on our worst set of results in 20 years, be it over 10 or 27 games and it barely seems to warrant a mention. In all my years supporting us i cant think of any other manager who has got off so lightly, with so little scrutiny after such a poor run.
You can talk about winning all you like but at some point you have to back that up with actual results, preferably against teams other than those in the relegation mire. That really needs to happen from the start of next season. Buy him some good players and see what happens, i still want him to be successful. I'll admit i'm firmly in the sceptical side that he will but we have to see how it plays out.

I don't care who he supports. These guys are pros who play for themselves rather than who they have previous alleigances too. It's been said so many times - Kenny Dlaglish, Celtic's best ever striker, was and is a mad keen Rangers fan. It was a joke in the dressing room after matches he's be waiting for their result and not because he wanted them to lose either. And btw the Old Firm rivalry is probably stronger than any other in club football, anywhere.Who cares if he's Chelsea through and through? We need good players and he's homegrown so that counts for extra. We didn't dither Kulusevski because he wanted to play for Woolwich at one time did we? If a player is open to the move we should definitely go for it.
