Manager Ange Postecoglou

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Funny that you bring up Kulu - because Gallagher is not good enuf - just like Kulu. The fact that he's a true blue chav cunt is secondary. Makes him less appealing but it's not the main issue.
Lol of course he's good enough, good enough to make this team better atleast. I'm not sure what delusion fans are under in regards to who qualifies as an improvement for this team.

We're going to end up in the Europa league and if he's happy with that we should look to make the deal happen as he would 100% improve us and be much less of a risk than buying someone from another league.

We seem to have a manager now who wants to win matches, no matter the consequences. It’s the only thing he cares about. Isn’t this a good thing?
That's all well and good, but if he wants to win matches that badly maybe he should walk the walk. Show some tactical flexibility. Maybe dont set up the team with two inverted fullbacks at Anfield for one .

According to most, Emery is the manager of the year with his incredible Plan B's his incredible high level experience in European football that Ange can't claim to match.

Emery’s top six record is pretty good, which would suggest he’s using that tactical knowledge pretty well. Out of the big six our record is only worse than United.

Also, how many Villa players would you take in to our eleven, out of interest?

Gallagher is a No 8 and he’s no better than Sarr and worse than a healthy Benta. Plus I’d like to play Devine for cup games against lower league sides and easy European fixtures.

The Chav cunt isn’t good enough as a No 10 or No 6. So hard pass.

Because generally managers are judged on the most recent results. Plenty were rightly getting excited after our first 10 so surely the same rules apply? Perhaps more so at the business end of a season.

But 10 is an arbitrary number with no context.

Has the end of the season been disappointing? Devastatingly disappointing!

Is that a reason to sack the manager? Given the rest of the context, absolutely not even close.

Its the last 10 but I agree that he shouldnt be sacked. Just that its been a piss poor run and i think he is fortunate that he has avoided a lot of the pressure and consequences that his predecessors got for similar runs over the years.

Ok, I see everyone is pretending that we have had no injuries but I have another theory.

Even when we had our injury crisis we still had a fully fit Bissouma and Pape Mate Sarr in our team but since they came back from the African Nations we have struggled to field the same midfield 2 games in a row. This is not because Ange does not know his best midfield it has been because they have been recovering from injuries:
Bentancur (ACL/Ankle)
Bissouma (Malaria)
Pape (Back)
Maddison (Ankle)

That is every first choice midfielder has been injured and fairly serious.

Then the other position is upfront where we needs lots of pressing and energy:
Richarlison (Hip/Knee/Calf)
Solomon (Dead)
Perisic (ACL)
Werner (Hamstring)

So Ange's tactics which require high energy press will obviously suffer because it is hard to do it over the 100+ minute games with the squad we have so the high line will fail.

I’m not sure we need to take a match against a very good Liverpool side, at a stadium we win at once every couple of decades, as a guide.

Even if we do, why should he suddenly stop believing in his principles? Didn’t we employ him in the first place because of his belief in playing attacking football?

Fine to say that hasn’t always worked, but didn’t you expect a bit of pain this season? Or did you expect us to roll over everyone?

Not sure that's true at all.

Lets look at last season. Last 19 games of 2022/23 - 8 wins, 3 draws, 8 losses. 1.42PPG (54 points over a season)

Two seasons before that? Last 19 games of 2020/21 - 9 wins, 2 draws, 8 losses. 1.53 PPG (58 points over a season)

Pochs last 19 games in charge? - 6 wins, 6 draws, 7 losses. 1.26 PPG (48 points over a season).

Go back even further. Redknapps last season in charge? 7 wins, 6 draws, 6 losses, 1.42PPG (54 points over a season)

Now if we beat Sheffield United, which we will do. This will be our last 19 games of 2023/24:

9 wins, 3 draws, 7 losses. 1.58 PPG (60 points over the course of a season).

By the way, let's look at Villas last 19 games (and let's just say they draw with Palace). 8 wins, 6 draws, 5 losses. 1.58 PPG. IDENTICAL to our half of the season in terms of points... Of course they could lose to Palace which means they'd have done worse in the last half of the season than we have...

This most definitely isn't our worst run of results since Ramos or in over 20 years at all. And if anything, shows us that this is usually a typical Tottenham season.

Start well. Tail off a bit. Hit some form again. Finish weak.

Alright.
Now go back do drawing board and answer this question - in how many of these seasons did we play as little as 41 games too?!?

This was the result of NO European football and extremely early bottlejobs in cups. Despite that results have been poor and we currently have averaged 1,5 points per game in 2nd half of the season with one game to play.

Also when you have the records available, also maybe you can say how many 2nd halves to EPL seasons we've done with 1 clean sheet or less? Cause right now we've conceded 33 goals in 18 games which is 1,83 goals per game. That is despite having WC winner from Argentina and Holland national team defender who is fastest player in EPL making up our central defensive partnership.

I've chosen to forget about the City match now and all the drama around it. We tried to win and lost as expected.

Just beat woeful Sheffield and ensure 5th place. I really don't want to see Chelsea overtake us.

Not sure if 6th place is good enough because I think in the unlikely event that United beat City in the FA Cup 6th place will be playing Europa Conference League.
You're right. And truth be told, we should be hammering Sheff Utd by 4 or 5.
I'm not so confident of City beating United though. I just have this feeling United are gonna turn up for that and play the game of their lives against a City team still celebrating the title.

This is even more weird? What’s he playing at and what is he so triggered about? Is he feeling the pressure of the losses and non performance.

And if that’s what the fan said to him a per petitionit should be started to get that ejection revoked.

Most challenging 48 hour spell? What happened? Did Levy kidnap Ange’s family and tell Ange to take a dive in the 51st minute v City?

I am going to disagree with some here but I think Ange comes out of this affair with some credit actually, he's clearly frustrated at the loser/no trophies mentality at Spurs and wants to change the club culture, I think that's admirable. It makes me laugh when you see the same old faces on here clogging up the 'let's laugh at Woolwich/Liverpool/Chelsea' (etc) threads and showing an utter lack of self-reflection. No one in football is laughing at Woolwich or Liverpool this season, even Chelsea seem to be turning it around. What all those clubs do is win stuff: ask any non-Spurs fan and they will say the same things about us - attractive football but flaky and don't actually achieve anything. I like that Ange wants to put a rocket under that and is disdainful of the corporate club culture as exemplified by the likes of Milsey (lol), good for him.

But that mentality should be changed with actually winning stuff.
Not shitting your pants in first round of the cup against Fulham and then point fingers at fans or whatnot.

It is down to HIM to help us deliver trophies and success.
Yet his comments seems like he is somewhere above from what we are at the club. He is part of that trophyless run, mate.
