Ronaldo and Queresma

They said that Queresma was one of the best ever talents to come out of Lisbon and had a ridiculously high level of technical ability and was touted to have a better career than Ronaldo.

Both their careers went the opposite directions and the rest is history.
In all honesty, I don't really know that much about Queresma. I used Nani as the comparison because he played in the same position, in the same team, and was supposed to be just as talented.

There are thousands of hugely talented Footballers out there, there are thousands of mentality monsters with minimal talent, but there are relatively few who have both.

So I’m told that some of the players were told some home truths by a group of staff and ex players a day before the game.

That fact made it back to Ange and he was furious. Hence the foul mood last night and the comments post match. He doesn’t give a fuck about rivalry whereas the ex players understand what the reaction would be if we hand it to Woolwich.
If that is the case did he then pick any of those players?

Tottenham is a place full of enigmas.
Don't comment this is just my take on the fanbase.
So I watch bits of blogs and I cannot stand the mouth that is Stel but I totally agree with his sentiment.
On the other hand I quite like the bloke who walks his dog and blogs (I nearly bought a house nearby) but the way he is so up Levy's arse sickens me.

Oh yes and now some hippy dipshit has arrived on the scene
calling out Spurs fans from his vantage point in the outback.
Come over here and I will give you a haircut and a beard trim you stinking piece of filth

It’s a nice question to ponder. Impossible to determine, but fun all the same.

Of course he has insane drive. But again, there’s a technical craft to football that is inante. That sense of balance and anticipation. The instinctive control. There are legions of strikers who even if they were as professional as Harry would never finish like him. Not to get down on our players, but it’s what I worry about with Johnson. There’s nothing exceptional about the way he receives the ball or moves off it. It’s all so structured. He might have the greatest mentality in the world, but his potential is more limited.

Anyway, it’s all a very roundabout way of saying we need fucking good players who are highly professional to boot.

EDIT: also, when I talk about technical skill, I don’t mean step overs and daft shit. I mean the way, for example, Mahrez controls the ball.
Don't worry mate, I knew what you were getting at.

We're actually on the same page regarding the type of player we need to bring in, we just have a different perspective on what is the factor that tips the balance from good to great. As is usually the case, the truth is probably somewhere in the middle, and your last paragraph nails that. One or the other is not enough, we need players that have both. I think we've started reasonably well with the likes of Romero and VDV especially. If our recruitment continues to pick that type of player, then I have no doubts that we'll see us improve further next season.

I still think most of the Ange outburst is born from losing 5 out of 6 matches , this seems like pure deflection on his part.
If we beat Wolves home and away, Fulham away etc we wouldn't be having any outburst at all, a lot of this is down to him unfortunately.
There was nothing to deflect. A) fans were okay with the result as it fucked Woolwich B) We played well. These two statements were the actual topic spoken about after the game both at the stadium and online in social platforms.

The media all thought we were good, most surprised how good and most thought we deserved something out of the game.

I appreciate your respectful tone, but I find that absolutely outrageous.

I wished my team to win all the times HE didn't care about it, allowing us to get battered by not making rudimentary adjustments to our set-piece defending.

He told everyone he didn't care and to piss of and leave him alone.

I'm not having this guy bowl into my club and play me for a cunt, wanting to gaslight and conduct everyone around his whims:

'maybe I'll just leave the schoolboy marking on set-pieces and not compact defend in a mid-block; or maybe I'll just choose to do all that and fix other parts which were failing, causing us to keep losing, in the one game that provides our arch rival and fierce historical competitor a title which will propel them even more years ahead of us, a situation which I am directly responsible for, as we only had to draw with them AT HOME to stop them'.

The pristine fact is he allowed a rot to set in by wilful, open negligence, causing us to LOSE game after game, then sanctimoniously shits on the fans for not wanting to WIN.

Patently absurd.

Majority of fans have been super generous, gracious and supportive to Ange; backing him throughout his arse -dropping slump and infantile tactical approach.

He's self-centred and fucking ungrateful and I can fucking tell you I am still furious with this and I will NOT be played as a cunt to sate someone's ego.

Listen, if you wanna fall for it and pretend that the vast majority of us fans who wanted to ensure - in a game which was one-in-a-million(!)... exceptional circumstances - that the scum, who have been well on the rise, do not gain the key to the very top tier and leave us even further behind, making it more difficult to win anything, are to be blamed, then fill your boots.

It's thoroughly perverse that there's a minority who are buying into this narrative Ange is seeding here.

The media already loves to shit on us and treat us like reek on a rack and he's sat there post-match, in a toddlers huff and given them more fuel to do it with.

Fucking fraudulent.

This fanbase has been wanting nothing but trophies forever; it's not US that have been the fucking problem, that would be BALDCUNT!

We've been begging that bastard to deliver trophies, and have been fully behind THE CLUB, consistently and loyally, even though he's failed miserably in doing so.

We've been emotionally abused and our love of the club has been exploited since he's been here and now we have to have a johnny-come-lately bowl in here - not even remotely interested in discovering, exploring and understanding the heart and soul of the fans - to pile in on top of it.

Disgusting.

THE FANS have not been the fucking problem - apart from the few who want to have that bald mthrfkr remain here to maintain mediocrity - and no cunt on this planet is going to gaslight me that we are.

Ange, put up or shut the fuck up and fuck off.

Enough talking.

DO IT.

And don't you dare try and use us as a buffer for any future failure.

Scumbag move.

Why I respect Conte - at least he came directly at the source!

Like a fucking MAN.
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Highly unlikely, but if we did it's the last match of the season and everyone would go to their neutral corners and cool off. Nobody would lose a job over it.

I'm not so sure.

Posrecoglou can't say what he said, change the team, and the mesage to the point of giving the Champions elect, the hardest game they have gad for a while, and then drift back to overseeing the dross that preceded it.

I don't do cake and eat it, and he is now more accountable than he was before in my opinion.

I'm not for a minute suggesting that we overlook talent, nor am I suggesting that the mentality is only found in 'work horses.'

Real Madrid have more than just a the most technically gifted players, those players also have that elite mentality. That's what got them to the top in the first place.

I'm trying to think of a suitable comparison, and the best one I can think of is Ronaldo and Nani. Nani was touted as the next Ronaldo, had all the talent, had all the arrogance, but he was a mental midget.

As for Kane, he maximised his talent because he's an absolute mentality monster. His self belief and driven to improve himself constantly is comparable with Ronaldo. Kane absolutely is talented, but do you think he achieved a tenth of his personal accolades just on talent alone? Mentality elevated him, otherwise his full talent is never realised.
A mental monster that lacks leadership.... Love Kane, but he is nowhere even close to Ronaldo.

He's treading on thin ice by telling supporters how to support when he's lost every single fucking game that counted this season.

Apart from one, and that Villa result was soon meaningless.

Knows what he is talking about for certain. I've only actually heard Chapman and Goldstein understand Tottenham fans in the media this week. The rest like to drive a false narrative about Spurs fans being the reason Spurs are 5th and not 1st.

Also, there is another fallacy that us not wanting to win against City was somehow detrimental to the outcome of the result. City beat us 1-0 at our new stadium in the cup when we did want to win and we always beat them before Ange. If us as fans wanting to win mattered we would have beaten West Ham, Chelsea, Woolwich, etc. all at home when it mattered more and top 4 was in our hands.

I don't know why we are all reading into this so much tbh.

Ange copped a strop because he didn't like the way the supporters and the people inside the club handled the situation surrounding the game because he "doesn't care" about the rivalry and "only cares about winning." and on top of that, his reaction was a poor attempt at deflection from the piss poor run of results we have been on due to his lack of flexibility and tactical ability, which ironically, he changed for this game and showed we can actually compete even with our current players.

He can think and feel whatever he likes but just know this, none of the supporters WANTED to be in this situation, none of the people at the club WANTED to be in this situation, we are IN this situation because of him and the players, that IS the reality of the situation, no matter how much people want to fucking hand wave it, the supporters had nothing to do with it, he wasn't blaming supporters when they were clapping him and the team off after that turgid display at Chelsea was he?

Ange is not our football club, he is a manager (one that is very fortunate to be at this football club, not the other way around) and just like any player and manager, they come and they go and I don't think he has any right to point the fingers at supporters or the club (considering the backing he has already had) for the situation we found ourselves in.

Like many have said, talking about winning is very different from actually doing it, Ange talks a LOT and actually I think he has exceeded expectation in terms of league position for his first season but this bullshit he has been spouting in his last two pressers is little more than a emotional rant from a man who is looking to deflect and lashing out rather than taking a step back and trying to observe why this situation happened in the first place and trying to understand why supporters and people at the club feel the way they do.

Anybody with a pair of eyeballs that isn't swept up in Angemania can see that, clear as day, admitting it doesn't make you a bad supporter.

He now has to prove to us he is the man for the job and give us something to cheer for.
