Manager Ange Postecoglou

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Excellent in his press conference, apologised for getting it wrong explained his feelings pretty well and the reasons for his anger. I think he will now be a bit more careful of what he says going forwards with regards to the negative element of this fan base which is a shame as it is a such a difference from the game playing speeches of Conte and Jose

** DIDNT SEE HIS MOST RECENT PRESSER WHEN POSTING THIS

It seems the ange cultists and the ENIC cultists have come together to hate on our club and our fanbase. I so wish we could be rid of both of these cancers on our club. The ENIC lot are all in with Ange espeically since his comments on the fans because it deflects from themselves and also if Anges position becomes untenable who do you bring in after that? A wild card punt at Ange was really their last gasp desperation

Now the dust has settled Ange was fucking pathetic. The fans were only put in that position because of his complete capitulation in the race for 4th. Man utd and Chelsea have been no where to be seen and AV were shite last season. If there is anyone that should be embarrassed its him. 4th was there for the taking. He came to this club giving it the big bollocks and the media obsession over him has been grotesque. Now his lack of tactics, experience and actually his football style (whatever that is) has been shite. A complete chancer.

The whole fiasco on Tuesday was an awful situation and one of the most embarrassing nights I’ve ever experienced as a Tottenham fan. A terrible reminder of how badly we have wasted all the momentum we built leading up to the CL final and a pathetic way to end our season.

Let’s just move on and never speak of it again.

Fair enough.

But he’s given the hideous media ammunition for months. If Sky ask you if the issues are resolved, you say ‘Never were any mate. Just a crazy week. We’re looking forward to Sunday, confirming Europe and then planning for next season. Next question.’

Instead, this question is now going to get dragged out for however many weeks.

You’ve got to shut it down.
I honestly believe saying that would do nothing.

1. What's been totally obvious since is rant is that the media will project preconceived tropes and agendas onto his words. I've seen so many of them linking Jose's and Conte's comments together for example. Madness as they aren't even related in any way shape or form
2. Fans also doing the above - Bringing up Levy, linking it to losing against Woolwich ar Chavs. Again totally unrelated. (people may have beef on these things but Ange's comments are completely and utterly not relatable).

He's owned what he said, (not done a snide Artteta thing and pretended he meant something else in a different language - Litterall the world laughed at him for doing that).

Had he lied about what he said it would have been obvious, it means in press confs it's a scab they will pick forever trying to get the same reaction.

The only highly predictable thing to come now is whether he answered how you suggest or in the way he just has, there will still be the same media and fans using what he said post-match over and over again and completely ignoring today's comments.

I've not had the chance to see how his comments have been taken but I'd guess there is more of a "fair enough" or Fair play to him for owning up to getting something wrong" than a more sarcastic line of "yeah alright mate we believe you"

I think he shut down the "internal" comments stuff. Unfortunately not really to my satisfaction, as I'm keen to want more info and how he dealt with it etc.

I think everyone is right, better to draw a line under it now and move on.

At the end of the day, he will live and die by the results, not by what he says in the press, this week has been horrible for everyone involved, I can't say I am a fan of the way he articulates things to the press as I feel he is naive and falls into the trap a lot but at the end of the day, if he changes the culture of the club and has us winning trophies and in the CL on a regular basis over the next (insert however long here) then I really don't give a shit what he says quite frankly, he could call us all a bunch of cunts but if he is winning football matches and trophies then it matters none to me.

I think it's an fascinating interview and for the first time he came across pretty vulnerable, I think the talk of throwing the match really got to him and he was desperate to win not taking the context of the occasion into account.

You can tell he has a massive ego and most good managers have but he talks about how had he lost the match how badly that would reflect on himself as a manager, I don't necessarily think that's a bad thing, he clearly values himself and shows narcissistic traits but to actually back down from that position and show empathy with the fanbase is quite something, must have taken him a lot to do that.

He also said that the fan that got thrown out is welcome to come back

It actually makes me root for him even more now.

That guy is nothing more than a fanboy who has been up Ange’s arse all season long. He may be right but using him as a source of anything? Lol. The guy practically worships Ange.
We always have those types with every manager we hire, had it with Jose, had it with Conte, had it with Poch, they follow them from club to club, they aren't to be taken seriously.

If people can't take an objective view on things they often aren't worth listening to in the first place.

Worst moment in his football career. That idiot shouting at him should be banned from attending next season. We all get heated and say stupid things at games but you’ve got to be a special level of thickness to do it at the manager.
Of course you can't ban him. Unless he was throwing racist, homophobic or some other kind of unlawful abuse. Banning him would be a ridiculous over reaction and would set all kinds of precedents. I would imagine there were many others directing the same sort of antagonism towards him but just didn't happen to be within hearing distance.

exactly that, hes judged on results and the last 10 games have not produced good results. if we were winning games this would never of been an issue in the first place.

he needs to be more concerned now about the players chucking the towel in on him, well know sunday by the performance if that looks to be the case.

banning a fan because they hate the scum sooo much. might as well play behind closed doors.

Know him personally?

Why would I need to know him personally to know people have been posting his shit all season and all he’s done is constantly bang on about him and only ever post positives? He’s a fan. There’s nothing wrong with that but posting his opinions as if he’s remotely objective is hilarious.

The guy may well know his stuff when it comes to football. Probably does. But it’s clear he admires Ange a lot and nailed his colours to the mast the day he got here. An Ange fan is only going to post positive stuff about Ange.

This is completely understandable. The last thing that any manager should want is to be accused or suspected of throwing games. That's the sort of reputation that can torpedo a career.

No matter if it is a true accussation or not.

He’s a Coach with a career to build.

He’s not a forum shitposter that doesn’t study the game in the same way.

As a coach he’s being noticing all season that the system does get adjusted. Are you saying he’s wrong?

Or just your classic ad hominem tactics to discredit him instead of arguing with what he said?
