We need to be willing to touch the 250,000 range to get the high level talent that also has the type of consistency and discipline we need.

Make no mistakes, teams will start offering the likes of Romero, VDV, and Udogie that kind of money soon. Sarr won't be far behind either.
We reward our best players. Levy is always prepared to throw money at an asset.

The problem we have is that our rivals are prepared to throw more money at *potential* assets.

Agree to some extent.

But you have just named 3 players we are currently paying 50-70k a week for.

Yes we have to be willing to stretch to something close to that number but it doesn't mean we have to buy players and pay that level of wages straight off the bat.

Currently, players know they can earn close to 200,000k a week for us if they prove themselves. We really aren't being the paupers some are making out.

Perhaps the profits from all the external structure eh karting, hotels etc will provide financing for team improvement, in order to compete with the Chelsea’s and Man Citys. With FFP being more enforced our income would enable better transfers in whereas the ‘ pocket money’ clubs would have to be very careful with what they spend.
Boy, wait until you hear about Levy’s plans after the hotel… the Tottenham Hotspur mini-marts, open 7-11…

After they are rolled out, this guy:

Promises we will have funds to compete in the long-term future.

Ahh....yes. Of course..

Bless. .:angehug:

Posters comparing our wage bill to other teams without drilling down into what their huge numbers are actually getting them creates a false reality.

We should be playing players competitive wages but my point is comparing ours to other teams is not relevant once you get into the weeds of what they are actually paying for.
I am not sure I understand your point if our wages are less than other clubs, they are less than other clubs. Doesn't matter who gets what wages , doesn't matter what they are paying for. I am sure every club have players that are not worth the money including us. The quality of the purchases is a separate issue, to having the ability to attract the players or not attract the players due to our wage structure. Everyone can be wise after the event.

I imagine he’s talking about value rather than cost?

But your point of hindsight is correct. And a few high profile examples excepted, you are more likely to get a good player at £200k a week than £50k.

Can’t wait for that little rat Shadydan Shadydan to spend a whole summer telling us that what we’re doing is fine.

Must be a strange world you live in, season's done so you fester your misery like the absolute cockroach you are in the Ange or match day threads so you'll linger around here all Summer like a bad smell 😆
