Wasn't good enough this season to go. Only himself to blame. Needs to be more consistent.
Southgate always seemed to have room for Harry Maguire and Kalvin Phillips even though their form was so bad they couldn't even get in their club teams. United were practically trying to give Maguire away last summer.Maybe this gives him the kick up the arse he needed for next season.
He was below average after he came back from his injury, the last game of the season especially I thought he was awful.
Because there are 6 or 7 better players in his position as alternatives, unlike CB and DM (less so now on the latter hence Phillips being bombed)Southgate always seemed to have room for Harry Maguire and Kalvin Phillips even though their form was so bad they couldn't even get in their club teams. Maguire is expected to be in the 26 man squad but Gareth seems to have finally run out of patience with Phillips. Maddison hasn't had any of the time they've had.
England captain is still as Spurs as it getsIf we go on and win it, you can predict what the social media little girls will be saying. "this is what happens when you don't pick any spurs players" blah blah blah all so predictable and boring.
Only when he misses a penalty/golden chance to win the tournament, that’s when most will call him Spurs no doubt
I was wondering the same, perhaps his injury is still hindering him...cos for sure when he came back he wasn't at the same level as he was pre it., He wouldn't be the first player to come back to early from injury pre a big international tournament and suffer the consequences. Richarlson springs immediately to mind.
He's definitely not average but he is inconsistent. Somebody wrote that a Leicester fan told them he'd be brilliant for a third of the season, injured for another third and mediocre for the remainder. About as accurate as you could get.I’ll get a lot of dislike for this but I wish we’d sell him. We can do much better than this guy. He’s painfully average and not physically capable of being a top level player. He's such a typical spurs signing.
Painfully average? You sureI’ll get a lot of dislike for this but I wish we’d sell him. We can do much better than this guy. He’s painfully average and not physically capable of being a top level player. He's such a typical spurs signing.
