Werner is a loan so we can cut ties at any time.

Past 24 that 4 year contract takes them into an age category where they are harder for us to sell.

I'm not against experience but for players we know and want to keep. Say Romero and VDV, I'd love to keep both into their late 20's.

Do i want to sign Chiesa at 27 and maybe get stuck with his wages for 4 years? nah not really.

That's why Doue and Neto works better for me than Doue and Chiesa. Both have injury challenges but Neto is 23/24. At 28 he will still retain value after his 4 year contract.
Not when his legs need to be amputated after his hamstrings dissolve!

In all seriousness though, I have to say I'm nervous about Neto, if we ARE seriously in for him.

Michael Owen had similar issues with his hamstrings and was plagued with them throughout his career. They're more likely to recur than not with speed merchants.

Every time I read Desire Doue I say it in the voice of Chucky reciting his voodoo chant.
If we had a Dembele he could pass to, it would be bloody close.
If we brought Dele back as well - Dele, Doue, Dembele

It's been a long week.

Werner created roughly 0.2 more goal+assists each match than Chiesa last season but yeah okay shiny new toy syndrome again I guess...
I've been wondering about the apparent disparity between Werner's number and how he's perceived. So I've settled on para-phrasing a moneyball quote:

"If he ain't a good misser, why does he miss good?"

All these G/As, I'd like to see a decent comparison chart of chances/conversions against other PL players, including Son. I know there's an unhealthy amount of confirmation bias in there, but just how far off are we?

Do we tend to remember the players that never recovered from hammys and not even really think about those that ended up pretty much injury free later on?

Neto has a horrible recent record no debates. If they feel like that can keep him fit they must have an idea how … if not they won’t spend 40m on him
