If I could go back to when I was asked in grade school what I wanted to be when I grew up, it's 100% software developer on the Microsoft Word team. I imagine those guys/gals work 7 hours a month...every other month.
Hahaha. It certainly has some appeal to a younger version of me.

I actually know far too much about their program teams, btw. It's like pre-colonnial India, lots of provinces with lots of leaders. No phones and 369 languages.

We don’t know if he has any interest in going there to be a PT player/ substitute.

For me, it’s a huge red flag that a player who could start for 20 or so EPL teams would choose to do so at 26.
It shows a Kalvin Phillips level of ambition.

May as well go to Riyadh. The money’s probably better even if the beer isn’t so good.
I agree, with the caveat that generally football supporters project a lot of care/interest/passion onto footballers. The vast majority of these guys don't actually give a shit, they're just making money and want to make as much of it as possible.

They're not all BAE's, but the average footballer is closer to that end of the spectrum than we'd care to think about.

Most players that reach Eze's level, as well, would back themselves to earn a spot. Similar to Dier repeatedly backing himself to win over another manager, and he was right all the way up to the last one.

Either way, in Eze's case the smarter move would probably be Spurs unless City are offering 150%+ on the wages. Certainly more available minutes, London shits on Manchester, and if he grows into a world class player we'll certainly sell him on to Madrid where he can collect gross wages and pile on the silverware in the sun.

The thing that annoys me with Deki is that there are a few things he could work on to put up his numbers. Getting to the back post more for crosses, using his size better to attack balls in the air for headers, working on his outside the box shooting cutting in from the right. None of these have improved at all in 2.5 years. His sister must be pissed at him,

Hes not a shiny toy anymore. That and more importantly he hasn’t truly kicked on like many hoped after his first half season here.
Exactly. The only difference between him and someone like Johnson is Kulusevski actually has technical ability and has proven he can perform the club when it matters.

And yet I'm hearing clueless people expressing their faith in a 22 year old discovering technical ability once he's 23 or older despite never having seen it from him whilst being more than willing to move on a player who has shown he can perform well for the team.

HAHAHA, fuck me, there's an oracle here.

Kane used to regularly miss 16 or so games a season for us in his early days. So theres still hope for Neto to have a lengthy career if he's smart and the club's he plays for treat him well.
Difference is Kane completely adjusted his game to prevent the ankle injuries in a way Neto simply can't; he stopped pressing, became a link up specialist who drops deep, doesn't expend any excessive energy, and gets the other forwards around him to do the dog work.

Neto doesn't have that same luxury. His game IS his explosivity - get rid of that and you get rid of 90% of what makes him special. He can't just just turn into a Kane who wanders around the pitch and picks his moments, particularly not in a high pressing Ange team.

thats the most frustrating thing with kulu! hes shown that there is a very good player there! however weve not seen that for a long time now, especially consistently.

hes got age on his side and hopefully he can sort out whatever it is thats holding him back.

That combined with his insane game intelligence turned him into the best striker in the world.

i actually preferd the earlier version of kane who would exert himself physically. them 2 goals he scored against chelsea that time were the hallmarks of a world class #9

8 goals in 36 games for an inside forward in a highly attacking setup is not a good return just because our other wide forwards are a bit dogshit and couldn’t score much.
I'm not saying we shouldn't upgrade him if we can find someone proven, but some unproven kid named Desire playing in a farmers league on a farmers team isnt the answer. FFS the kid has 9 goals in 90 games at Rennes

Kulu offers a lot more than goals though. Battles hard, good ball control, good defensively, good strength in the challenge. Nice throughball on him, can cross, shoot with both feet. Utility player in multiple positions (RW, CF, #10), & his ability to adapt quickly to these roles shows his game intelligence. He's also our only forward who you can pass the ball and trust he'll keep hold of it.

I admit he can frustrate as a player and does need to kick on this season but the raw attributes are there.
