you said Doue can be the heir to Son amongst other things.

Anyone on earth will assume you want us to sign him from that alone ffs. You also said we can get Doue and Gray for the same price as Eze...Anyone on earth would assume that would be your preference otherwise why the fuck would you mention it unprovoked.

You can have the opinion that he would be a good signing and that's fine but it's fucking weird maaking a comment saying he could be the heir to Son if you fucking haven't seen him play a game.
Mate just put him on block and move on. Your life will be much more pleasant, believe me. As would this forum.

Very smart signing, as they've all been recently.

Jorginho, Trossard, Rice. If they add an Isak or Gyokeres to the frontline they will win the league. Sickening.

And a perfect example of how Levy should acted at the height of the Poch era.

Well to be fair, they're signing a highly rated defender (with a horrible injury history) for 45m to add to the best defensive record in the league when they need important additions elsewhere.

Afcon began in January. Bissouma fell off a cliff after Luton, which was at the beginning of October.

Ultimately he's had 2 good months in 24 for Spurs. Maybe he suddenly has another purple patch but he's not someone we can rely on. Personally I'd be looking to offload.

The Luton game is always mentioned as the drop off point but I think his drop off in form comes later and coincides with us losing Van de Ven, Romero and Maddison tbh mixed in with how stop start his season started to become.

He was fine against Palace on his return and then he had to play alongside 8 men against Chelsea. Can't really blame him in that one.

Wolves, for me, is where his form started to dip. Which happened to be the game following Chelsea where we had no Udogie, no Romero, no van de Ven and no Maddison.

He then got suspended after that for getting a yellow. So already, after a consistent opening 10 or so games, it's stop start, stop start for him.

Doesn't have the best game against City. We then lose at home to West Ham.

Then it starts to look like he's getting back to his best with a good performance against Newcastle and he played well against Forest before he goes and gets sent off. He then misses the next 6 games (2 months), gets malaria and another niggly injury I believe and never finds consistency again before ending the season injured.

I am hoping Bissouma can find his confidence again in pre season, which he somewhat found last year and goes into the season strong. It's what all of us should be hoping for

Yes fair points. In hindsight I think you're probably right about the decline in form, it wasn't quite so sudden. Palace I recall him being OK but that Hojbjerg was an improvement when he replaced him. City was obviously a horrorshow.

But IMO even in the games against Newcastle and Forest I remember thinking he wasn't quite the same player he had been in those opening 10 games. That Forest red was also unforgivable.

To me he just feels like too much of a headless chicken at times in that role, especially with the stupid fouls. You really need your #6 to be a rock mentally and that just isn't Bissouma. Defensively he also leaves a lot to be desired, the lack of effort to tackle dribblers at times was galling.

I really hope to be wrong here because at his best he's literally one of the best #6's money can buy, at least on the ball. Problem is I just don't see him ever having that consistency for us. There always seems to be an excuse for why he's not at it, either it's Covid, or it's Conte, or it's red cards, stop-starts, suspensions, malaria, off-the-pitch shit, Afcon, you name it. It was the same at Brighton too.

There are also rumours he likes a party, which doesn't shock me one bit.

I still think there will be slight changes to our system this season. Especially with the signings of Gray and Bergvall. And links to Eze.

I think we may move to more of a double pivot. Which I think will help Bissouma big time. In fact, I think that helps alot of our midfielders and also allows us to push Maddison further forward and closer to the opponents goal.

Guess we'll see.

Nothing new but pretty good summary by Gold.
I had forgotten that Gil turned down a loan move to Brighton in Jan.
I get the lads wants to go back to Spain but tbf that would have been a really good move for him!

Gilmore is thriving there, he could have gotten a run of games

I agree about the double pivot, and I'd like to see it, but Ange was so stubborn in his formation last year I'm not sure how likely it is. Especially with the targeting of Eze, he's another #10, honestly I've no idea how it's all supposed to fit together.

Difference is Calafiori is no Davinson Sanchez...

And Sanchez was so highly rated that Mourinho had specifically targeted him in the Europa final 3 months earlier, even though he was paired with a 17 year old De Ligt. I never saw what the fuss was all about with him tbh, always looked awkward on the ball.
