Well um yes we're all Spurs fan if you hadn't noticed...of course I'm burying my head in the fucking sand, I don't want them to do well and we don't need constant reminders from wet wipes who can't get over the fact that they are doing what we should have done with Poch...unless you get off salivating over our rivals as some of dopamine hit, does it make you feel good constantly talking about them and their transfer business?, does it improve your mental state, I don't get it?

This place is honestly weird, we have enough Woolwich cucks throughout the season sucking them off, if you wanna join them fine but you should at least do it in the thread that's dedicated to them, not this one.
Makes me rock hard

I’ve constantly been banging the drum for Toney, he’s the closest to Kane you’ll ever find in this market, but I don’t think he’s an Ange player, nor will Brentford do us any favours with the fee, so I find it incredibly unrealistic.

I was surprised to find out Ivan Toney only had 25 Non-penalty Prem goals in 2 and a half years of Prem football. 81 starts in that time.

Alright if you get them, I guess.

And we’ve had like 2 penalties in the last fucking millennium

Yeah, that was sort of my point I guess.

He has a 1 in 3 record when not provided with a penalty kick.

Bare in mind, Richarlison since signing for Spurs has scored 12 goals in 15 league starts when playing as a striker for us and not on the wing. No penalties. A 1 goal every 1.25 games record.

The striker market is so poor this summer that it seems much smarter to put all the summer budget into other positions instead of buying someone who hasn't really proven to be much better than what we have.

Bare in mind, Richarlison since signing for Spurs has scored 12 goals in 30 league starts. No penalties. A slightly better 1 in 2.5 game record.

Exactly what I've been saying.

Toney is a good player. He's a really good player if you play on the counter and need a target man to link play. He's a fantastic focal point for a team like that.

On the flipside, if you take away penalties and free kicks, he's never been a prolific goal scorer and we play possession football that requires the CF to be the complete opposite of a focal point.

Doesn't mean that our style of play couldn't change for next season but it would be a massive shock if we lined up next season looking to play direct balls and counter attacks.

I'm not going to be upset if we ended up making a late move for Toney and got him in to compete with Richarlison. We will have alot of games, Richy has been unreliable with fitness at times and he's HG.

But I feel like unless we get the targets we need to get in, it's a a bit of a waste. Like you say, he's perfectly suited to a club like Brentford and their brand of football. Not to say it won't translate but his goalscoring record minus the penalties doesn't really move me. If we just want a lump to be able to hold the ball up, there's plenty of them.

Though to be fair, Richarlison put in one of the best "target man" performances I'd seen in ages last season, I think against Brighton.

The wide forwards are a much bigger priority and a real solution to compete with Maddison and play when he's injured.

It was only Sheff UTD but I'd not be against seeing Kulusevksi as the false 9 again in pre-season. He's strong enough to hold the ball up and link with others. We saw him do it to a really high level several times but the home game against Liverpool he was like a wide #9 for us.

Difference is Calafiori is no Davinson Sanchez...

And Sanchez was so highly rated that Mourinho had specifically targeted him in the Europa final 3 months earlier, even though he was paired with a 17 year old De Ligt. I never saw what the fuss was all about with him tbh, always looked awkward on the ball.
Bloody hell, Sanchez had only the month before the final just turned 21 himself! That team was the youngest side to ever reach a European final, with an average age of just 22Yrs.

You're a good poster mate, I hope you don't think I'm picking on you. I'm only reacting here because your post makes out that Mourinho "did a job" on them by targeting a 21yr old!!! (I hate the Dinosaur with a passion and will likely tear strips off any post that remotely frames this cunt in a good light looool). This only gets said because Mourinho himself came out post-match and said it as if he was giving the press a gem of his inside tactical knowledge. He beat an U21 side with a squad that cost nearly half a billion, nothing really special in that, especially when they should never have even been in the final having totally fluked their way to win in the semi AND quarter-finals. Pogba alone cost x4 the cost of the entire Ajax team (£16m).

As you were hahahaha................

:angehug:

Another half truth

Brentford played on the front foot in the Championship and he thrived.

The fact that he stepped up into the PL and posted a moderate tally playing in a low block team shouldn't count against him.

He wasn't wrong though.
He said they let him have the ball as he can do fuck all with it. We then spunked 45m on him.

Strange when we had Toby and Jan, two of the smoothest operators you'll ever see
