Pretty sure Ali Gold said Phillips will be our only "senior" centre back next week for our friendlies as I imagine Romero, Van de Ven and Dragusin will all get given extended leave and Dorrington is injured.

I imagine they'll all be back for the Japan trip though so Phillips will probably get a half here and there.
What about Davies? I think I saw him around in training videos.

Well I imagine Davies will partner him yeah.

Can imagine the frustration of having to play a left back and a 19 year old for your first pre season friendly though due to international tournaments disrupting a pre season.
Got your point, but I would be more mad with having to put Davies at inverted LB than at LCB :D also re:tournaments I think we are in relatively good position - only Cuti and VDV from our stellar 11 were still out there yesterday. Everyone else is either back with squad or already close to finish vacations like Vic/Dragu.

Yeah, I'm not too worried about Romero and Van De Ven - theyre at such a high level that they could be on holiday until the day before Leicester and id still trust them.

Weve been relatively lucky anyway with the fact the majority of our squad didn't go to any tournaments so the likes of Porro, Udogie, Maddison, Bissouma, Sarr etc have all started pre season.

No. He is a good player for a team that plays a mid or deep block. For us, he’s just totally illsuited.
He is. But if he has to play, surely it’s down to Ange to change his expectations of who is playing that role. PEH can get the ball back and then kick it quite far in the direction of the oppo goal. Do that. Don’t try to Ronaldinho it out of our own box.

Not ideal, but suitable at a pinch.
