One thing I'd say is that he scored yesterday but vanished afterwards a bit. I'd seen games in the past and he'd been a willing presser to get the ball back. Yesterday for long spells he wasn't bothered. Maybe Lange and Ange see them same more than I had done before.

If you sign a 50m player on a 5 year deal, you can pay it over 5 years (roughly). So only 10m out of the budget this summer.
You pay the release clause on the 50m player in one go that’s like committing to 5x 50m players. It’s the kind of thing you do when your squad needs one final piece to tip you over the edge to win things.
