Good post. Kulu's defending is a hugely underrated aspect of his game.

I mean, he was the best player in the entire league for tackles in the final third, both in total and per 90 mins.

His output for G/A was poor but I'm pretty sure his turnovers led to the most amount of goals scored too.

I'm not advocating for not replacing him, just that his ability to do this is important to the Ange system.

We were third by net spend in the PL. By total spend we were second.
Ok fair enough.

Tbh I didn’t really want to get into this, I don’t know why I replied. Villas business so far isn’t anything that I’d want us to be doing.

But net spend isn’t ready predictive for winning things. We’ve been round the houses on this but wages and the total cost of the playing squad including transfer fees and wages are much better places to look.

I didn't say it was predictive of winning things, but the whole concept of managers getting "Levy'd" is like 5 years out of date.

Why would Toney want to leave London for Manchester? Manure already have 3 strikers. We have none. Toney gets a game at Spurs way easier than at Manure.

Thank fuck for that. Completely unnecessary use of £70m up front when we have gaping holes elsewhere in the squad.

I can’t disagree with this tbh.

I’d love Eze to be here but if the only way to pay it is up front, that’s this summers whole budget gone.

I think Eze ends up a floor raiser for us because it means we never lose creativity without Maddison and he can bring something different out wide. Fuck it, I’d even play him false 9.

But the question I don’t know the answer to is if he’s a ceiling raiser that joins the likes of Son and Romero as our genuine STAR players. Game changers. He might be but I don’t know.

The wingers in our system get an incredible amount of space because our full backs are tucked in so it's not so much breaking down low blocks for the wingers, it's more about their 1v1 skills as they are always often isolated 94th percentile for progressive take ons.
Well, my point would be that maybe his 1v1 stats look really good because he’s often in space and can just run past people.

It will be difficult for him to be that rampaging runner against the low block.

Hope I’m wrong but if we do buy him, then I think it’s almost certain that he won’t look like the dynamic player he is at Wolves (even if he does stay fit).
