Son is also 32.its baffling how some people watch every spurs game and shit like this goes straight over their head!
Let's not pretend he has a long career ahead of him.

Not sure what you're referring to?Would love to know what the actual transfer strategy is and what Ange was referring to end of last season. We have our plans in place and players identified or words to that effect, instead we get that non exec director based in SF going on about the “ experience” whatever that means.
Not talking myself into it. Just see it as the only realistic signing.People still talking themselves into Ivan Toney. This fan base is properly brow-beaten by Levynomics.
Manifest Gyokeres or Openda. Refuse to even discuss Toney as being possible. This club has the money and the means to go and get their top targets, fans need to start expecting and accepting nothing less.
And let's be fair to the club, they just had the conviction to spend big money on Archie Gray at 18 from the Championship. It's probably even realistic to think they might now go and make the investment on our top targets.
Sell himRicharlison is injured too frequently ..... so why risk buying another injured player and double the risk of too many players in the sick room and too few to play in matches.
Different point but I agree we should be thinking ahead … When Son hangs up his boots (right now he looks fit as the butchers dog) I hope our future striker options come from the group coming through — Lankshear, Veliz, Scarlett.Son is also 32.

I see, so you want to use the two extremes to make a point.Good point - let’s see who Norwich sign, that’s the bench mark

We’re never signing Gyokeres. AsStarks said, he’s got an £80 million pound release clause and Sporting are persistent shits. There’s no pressing need for them to sell.
I don’t think the club even entertains a transfer fee of over £50 or so million.
I'm fully aware of that, but using Utd as a template for "go out and get them" is ridiculous, they're no benchmark for getting the right players, regardless of cost. The market for strikers is expensive. It’s fuck all to do with Utd. There are stories Chelsea wanting £35M for Lukaku ffs
We play with a centre forward every game we’ve played under Ange.We were talking striker, not centre forward though. Not the same thing to me, we don’t play with a traditional centre forward, at least not since early years Kane.
Brentford set up with 2 wide players to feed Toney, Mbeumo and Wissa are decent as well, but only 4 goals in 17 starts (3 in open play). A goal every 4 games is worse than Richi.
I don't think he can cope with the amount of football he's gonna have to play. He looked like a shell of himself for large spells last season.Different point but I agree we should be thinking ahead … When Son hangs up his boots (right now he looks fit as the butchers dog) I hope our future striker options come from the group coming through — Lankshear, Veliz, Scarlett.
not a traditional target man like Toney though. We play with a centre forward every game we’ve played under Ange.
Not a traditional “
not a traditional target man like Toney though.
Exactly, if we are going into the market then it has to be an obvious upgrade. That's exactly my point mate.
Toney really shouldn't be the only realistic signing for this club and fans would be within their rights to see it as a lack of ambition from the club to just wait it out for the price to drop on a forward who is almost certainly way down the list.
So 75M for a decent player is fair market value and well within our budgetI see, so you want to use the two extremes to make a point.
Both teams buy dross, it's just that Utd pat ridiculous amounts for their dross.
Are you feeling me now?
Someone would pay 20M imo - I assume that’s roughly what’s left on the balance sheetyou might have noticed the market is still dead - except for ffp avoidance schemes.
and until he's fit again even less chance of buyers.
Or do we just wait? There is a serious lack of quality number 9’s out there just now. Look at the Euros. Who was the best one? Georgian guy who I’m not going to attempt to spell. Then after him? Fucked if I can think of anyone that played well. But for a ropey handball and an inch here or there, Lukaku wins the golden boot.
Couple this with us playing quite well in the last couple of games last season without a recognised 9 and maybe we are looking to do that as either plan A, or plan B when Richarlison is inevitably injured.
Not one of the links we have so far to a 9 excites me. Talk to me about Osimhen or Martinez and my ears prick up. Otherwise, I’d be ok with Toney at a push.
