Player Will Lankshear

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Hope we make a decision quickly on which gets loaned out. Can't keep splitting half a games worth of minutes between him, Dane and Veliz, better to let them go out early and get a proper pre-season with their loan club and start to gel with new teammates and (hopefully) impress their new manager before the season starts. Maybe you loan out Veliz and Dane and possibly keep Lankshear around for the first half of the season with chances in Europa then maybe half season loan in Jan?

Keep Veliz, loan Lankshear, sell Scarlett.

Thought his stats from last season, still worth repeating :

View: https://x.com/Lilywhite_Rose/status/1795011148112138301

In PL2 was averaging a goal in about 80 mins (ie slightly better than a goal a game)

EFL cup is of course playing against mens sides in L1 or L2 - so his stats are good for an 18 year old as he was then.

Top scorer in PL2 and player of the season plus top scorer over all competitions of any u21 player in England.

Glad to see him start season in the same groove with a goal in 20 mins of the Hearts game(who are probably L1/lower Championship standard). Hope he gets more minutes v QPR who are a level above.

Great movement and technical ability, knows precisely where the goal is and a good goal conversion rate

Cause Lankshear never played a season of men's football, Veliz has, so he'll benefit more from a loan.

Worth commenting that Veliz played 50 odd games in Argentinian League scoring 17 goals with a couple of assists - but Argentinian League is rated about 18th in the world as some 300-600 Argentinian footballers play outside the country (ie most of best Argentinians do not play in it)., so its rated lower than Championship (which is usually rated 6th) or even Netherlands (where Parrott scored 17 goals last season in slightly fewer goals). Overall Argentinian league is probably closer to L1 than anything else

So truth is we really don't know what level Veliz is, - we know he'll be 21 in September (and overseas trained) whereas Scarlett was 20 a couple of months ago (and Club trained) whilst Lankshear was 19 a couple of months ago (and .we think becomes List B/u21 before uefa registration date).

It may be true that Lankshear is the player in form, having played well all last season, whilst Veliz is rusty/out of form from not having played for a year (last played for Argentinian u20's in June 2023 and his club in about March 2023) and Scarlett hasn't played too much recently either but did train with first team with a couple of sub appearances in 2nd half of last season.

And I think that's why Ange gave them all some minutes last night.

Not surprising he'd look better than Scarlett or Veliz based on what we've seen so far of the three. Scarlett in particular I just struggle to see kicking on. Exciting talent this guy, looks like a grown man out there and a real handful.
Yeah, for me Scarlett just looks absolutely bang average! Whilst this kid seems to possess all the qualities of some top grade mustard.

Sort of on topic but can anybody remember if the club takes Europa seriously?

Or is it a case of the domestic cups where the manager throws together a bunch of cloggers and inshallah.
If the squad players are exciting youth players like Bergvall, Gray, Moore, Phillips, Veliz/Lankshear then if you put a few experienced guys around that then it’s a pleasure to watch. You’d want to beef the team up for the knockouts…. Depends who we get I suppose because we all remember how we did under serial winner MourinhoZ

Scarlett will get loaned out over and over and then leave on a free transfer eventually. Veliz I think has been unlucky. He got fucked over with the Seville loan and has also scored for the first team. He was just unfortunate to get injured against Bournemouth as he was in and around the first team getting minutes. I think he will get chances this season and to have him and Lankshear as cover for hopefully a new signing maybe not the worst idea. We have Deki and Sonny that can play there if needed and richy can do one.

I hate the expression ‘Can play there if needed’ .

Yeah, time to cash in on Richy if we get offered 60milly or thereabouts from the Arab clubs. Bu t hopefully we have a replacement at the ready... Agreed with you on Veliz, jury's still out on him and he just needs some game time before we can make a decision on his future with us.

No club is offering us 60m for Richarlison. Come on.

He will still be a Spurs player next season.

People keep saying Kane but I don’t see it.

This is Mark Falcao with modern medicinal/physical Advances.

Lankshear is certainly not a complete replica of Kane - Kane's ability to play make and passing were as good or better than the best players in that position.

However Lankshear is a deadly marksman, already a solidly built player with very good (maybe even excellent) technical skills and an unerring eye for goal - so as a pure striker on the course to be a match for Kane.

Let's calm down, if he scores half as many career goals as Kane then he'll have done very well.
