Scarlett has some ability, just doesn't look like a striker to me. Doesn't have much presence up top, doesn't seem to occupy the centre backs, not great playing with his back to goal, haven't seen much hold up play, or link up. Nor is he particularly pacey, not great movement, or looking to get in behind and play on the last line.

Maybe I could see him being a second striker. But definitely not one who leads the line on his own, not unless he completely alters his game.
With this sort of write up we should slap a 40m price tag on him and hope for the best! My local footie club has some players with some "ability" too but if he's not playing as a striker he doesn't seem to have much else as a player to make me think he looks remotely adaptable to be pushing for a place in midfield in even mid table championship sides. Possibly left back on the bench though :sonhmm:

Don’t think we’ll get Toney anyway. He wants to go to a top club that wins trophies, according to this. However only us and West Ham are in the race for him apparently so he might be a bit fucked.

Tottenham Hotspur should never be in a race with West Ham to sign a player.

Not now, not in the past, not ever.

See.

Crap report from the Sun, no quotes.... 2+2=5 from them ignoring there are 15 other teams in the prem and many others in Europe that might be interested in Toney and right on queue, a ready made post dissing our club with zero substance to the report.

That would have been a total fucking disaster losing him to Chavs.

Kid apparently had Real, Barca, Ajax, Dortmund City all after him. Chelsea would have been the worst, well maybe behind Arse.

Have we ever had a 16 year old wanted by all of Europe before?
Yes, Onomah and Edwards were both approached by City, Chelsea and a couple of the big European teams.

We are stacked at center mid and he is way out of our typical age range for recruitment. But Sergi Roberto has left Barca after his contract expired and reportedly wants to try a run in the Prem.

He's not really a positional or age fit as I said, but he has so much experience that could be really worthwhile for our younger lot to listen to and learn from.

I'm not convinced we shouldn't be in a race with them for players tbh.
They're keen to punch above their weight. We're keen to never do that.
