This is such a dead window in general, no one is really doing anything.

It's weird that we've spent more than City and Woolwich.

Noticw Us, Woolwich, City and Liverpool -4 clubs who are generally well ran and have good transfer strategies over past few years are the quietest so far this window whilst Utd and Chelsea are loud.

Woolwich and liverpool haven't bought a single player though. They won't be closing the gap on City at this rate. If they get anyone in, they won't even get a full preseason with the team.

Not really true tho...

Not commenting on quality but there are plenty of clubs doing business. UTD, VIlla, West Ham all very active. Chavs have done a fair bit already.

There are clubs like us Liverpool and the scum have been a bit quiet but there are transfers to be done.

That is my point, I was actually agreeing with you but making more of a general point about the state of market at the moment.

Definitely, Villa finished ahead of us and have spent a decent amount but none of their signings are really moving the needle for me (apart from Maatsen maybe?).

They've done a lot of business because they had to beat the initial FFP deadline, might look okayish now but come the end of the window I think it won't age very well.

If we had Villas window. People would be complaining.

Just qualified for the CL and they've:

- Sold their best midfielder and replaced him with someone inferior

-Signed Ross Barkley on a free.

- Signed what would have been the equivalent to us re-signing Jack Clarke.

I do think Maatsen is a good signing, but he looked so physically below par when he played for Chelsea last season.

Yeah I guess but I usually think of transfers in terms of quality anyway, not just how much is being spent. Yoro's really the only one that I see as a quality signing.

Same for almost all youth prospects from all clubs. Only a tiny percentage ever make it at the top level.

Possibly, he was part of a group with Edwards that along with Chelsea (who/were always strong) really owned a season and where miles above most youth players in the country. At least would have expected him to be a mid table prem player or get to where Edwards or Walker-Peters got but he just fell off a cliff.
