Promise you his coaches would have given him plenty of jokes for taking himself too seriously. If there is one thing teenage boys need, especially talented ones, it's to be kept humble and feet firmly on the ground.

Seems like we are the place to be for younguns at the moment, all the kids want to play for Spurs.
Club signing
I remember a Spurs youth watcher years ago said that the youth coaches at the time tried to completely remodel Bostock’s game. He was this wide playmaker type, a bit like a Spanish midfielder - David Silva or Carzola - and they were obsessed with making him this Steven Gerrard type box to box player because he was quite tall and leggy. His confidence went to shit and he faded away. He managed to rebuild himself and have a decent little career, which shows he had some talent and strength of mind.Definitely!
I wonder if that’s what went wrong with John Bostock, and I certainly don’t think Poch’s Mini-Messi comments helped contain Marcus Edwards’ ego!
The unfortunate thing here is, agents and agencies will often tell young footballers (and other young folk in the public eye who are looking for high level employment) to look serious in their photographs. Then if you're a 14 year old white kid you're often told you look determined, but if you're not white you're a gangster.
Don’t believe that for a second. He said himself a few weeks ago he’s not interesting in Saudi and he’s staying
If we actually do sell Richy, top quality is the remit for his replacement. David, Gimenez, etc aren’t really much better.
Top top quality must be required coming in. He is a lot more useful and versatile than the mugs on here may realize, and the £60m fee reflects that.
That seems really crappy advice as they just look like they’re taking themselves far too seriously and would scream diva to me!The unfortunate thing here is, agents and agencies will often tell young footballers (and other young folk in the public eye who are looking for high level employment) to look serious in their photographs. Which is a bit shit, really
I live not far from Newcastle and albeit hearsay, fans like ourselves with access to their own form of ITK stated they knocked back a £105m bid from Chelsea earlier in the window out of hand and they’ve not returned with a higher bid. If this is the case then I can’t see them entertaining £110-120m. He’s arguably their best player and now that they’ve sorted their PSR issues, it would only take a ridiculous offer for them to sell. We would be better testing Leipzig’s resolve for Openda given he can walk next summer is his mediocre (in the current market) release clause of circa £75m is met.
But who though, there’s no cunt out there. Offer Villa £80m for Watkins? I’m not convinced that would be money well spent either.
There just don’t seem to be any stand out candidates available where you think, ‘Yep he’s the man!’
