Yeah but every striker we are linked to is completely different

Maybe the target is just someone who has proven to score goals in multiple leagues or has shown continuous improvement to their goals to game ratio year pn year who the club feel can put away the chances we create.

As opposed to a certain style and profile.

David, Gyokeres, Openda, Toney (to an extent) have all proven they can step up a level whether it be from Championship to Prem or from the Dutch League to the Bundesliga etc. - but aren't all necessarily the same type of forward.

Richarlison, when fit, scored 11 goals and managed 4 assists in just 14 starts as a striker last season in this system... And he's hardly prolific.

maybe go 4 this guy
i have a feeling he would be cheap
It’s the hope that kills you.

Yep. Scoring goals in Portugal and the championship doesn’t scream wanting to pay what they want from him.

I’m not that keen on Alvarez at City but the more I think about it, if he wants out, he might be the finisher we need.

I really like Alvarez personally but I doubt they let him go

For me Toney isn't an upgrade on Richarlison, the one season he scored 20 Prem goals he had 7 penalties which he wont be taking here

to be fair i should imagine our chance creation is and will be a bit higher under Ange than what he had at Brentford.
As for an upgrade on Richie, that's not hard to do these days as he can't seem to stay fit anymore

If we had Villas window. People would be complaining.

Just qualified for the CL and they've:

- Sold their best midfielder and replaced him with someone inferior

-Signed Ross Barkley on a free.

- Signed what would have been the equivalent to us re-signing Jack Clarke.

I do think Maatsen is a good signing, but he looked so physically below par when he played for Chelsea last season.
How dumb does someone have to be to actually disagree with this. 🤦‍♂️ Who is it I wonder? Oh what a shock...Someone who basically supports every other team in the EPL but us.
