Gyokeres has decent pace and a good burst of acceleration. He's really agile as well despite being 6'2'' and has good technical quality, almost like a winger at times. In fact, he had more successful take-ons per 90 (2.1) than any forward in our squad, granted he was playing in Portugal.

He's well built and can hold the ball up well, great at linking up play, especially around the box. To cap it off, he's a good finisher (29 goals in the league from 22 xG). I may be wrong but I also remember him featuring well on those lists ranking the pressing actions of forwards where Sonny and Richy featured highly.

The caveat is that he's obviously been playing in the championship and Portugal and is 26. But we're seeing modern strikers maturing later and later these days (Watkins, Toney) and he did get 7 g/a in 9 matches in the europa league last season. Imo, he has the necessary attributes to succeed and is probably the best option we could get.

From now I meant. With Lankshear looking better and Veliz will get an opportunity before it’s pointless him hanging around. If he does he ends up like skipp being a nothing player wasting years of his career.
Yeah I agree regarding Scarlett he's had two loans now and never really kicked on. We still don't even know his level.

Atleast with Skipp we know he's capable premier league player and he's proved he is better than the championship.

Devine loan proved he was way too good for League one. And was decent in championship albeit he was playing for a struggling side(I personally think he'll be a premier league player)

Veliz and lankshear should be ahead of him considering Scarlet hasn't even matched their feats.

Given the risk that he flops though, he's a £30m player at best.
They want double or more by all accounts.

As much as get annoyed at Levy being stingey. I don't promote throwing money away on unproven players.

That's pretty common though, right?

Onomah was so much more physically developed than those at youth level that he ultimately looked better than his peers. When it then came to playing against physically better footballers, actual men, he struggled.

Happens alot. Solanke was another one, but to his credit he worked ridiculously hard to be a somewhat decent Prem player.

Hopefully Lankshear doesn't fall in the same boat, because he is physically ahead of so many at youth level it looks too easy for him.
I Genuinely reckon he'll be up there again amongst the top scorers in the league. Said it at the start of last season that he'll prove he's got what it takes at this level..

He's a better player than he is given credit for. It's took a while, but I think he's only going to get better now and I think we've missed the boat.

How has he looked for Sweden? Any good?
