That’s a good point. I think we need a perhaps small, pacy presser that likes to get in front of his man on near post cross. Can’t think of anyone in the PL currently that does this by trade.

Feel like we could use an entire thread just to talk strikers.

I've never seen him play for Sporting but Gyokeres is meant to have some of the best pressing stats of any forward in the top 5 European leagues. He's beast but apparently also willing to run like maniac to get the ball back.

Openda I have watched a couple of games and he gives you that nippy burst of pace to create a yard and get on the end of a cross. He will relentlessly run channels and press like a maniac to get the ball back too. He looked better than your usual small CF at holding the ball up as well. Has that stocky Aguero build but he's definitely not the physical presence that some on here want from a Gyokeres or Toney type.

Just going off the Euro qualifiers (never seen him otherwise) Gyokeres is very fast in straight line speed but nothing very subtle about him.

I don’t know if we need that hold up play. I mean we did last season as the midfield was so open. But I can’t see a hold up merchant like Toney getting on the end of those quick low crosses

How many games did you watch?

tbh I'm always pretty reluctant to judge a player based on national team games. So much of team sports is based on chemistry. There is no point making a subtle movement if nobody on your team has any idea what you are going to do next.

I think Royal too. And Spence to get run as understudy with Gray able to fill in or even Dragu or Kulu. We’re okay on that side don’t need reinforcements

If we get a middling fee for Lo Celso similar to PEH to get off the books I think I’d take that over moving Skipp on. Different positions of course
GLC will go on a free due to his high wages imo

Gallagher noise comes from Chelsea imo because he's last year of his contract and not signing a new one. He probably wants the same as some of the crazy money they are paying the likes of Sterling and he'd be right to want that.

If he's going on a free next summer I could see us being in the mix.
He will do f all season and hopefully our midfielders shine so we don’t go near him

Sweden got walloped by Austria and … I want to say Belgium. Deki was their best player but nobody stood out for Sweden. Could just be a bad night at the office.

Midfield way too lightweight, Maddison a terrible LW in this system. Right side looks good though for the 4 games Neto would be fit for.
1. Not if you make Biss sit deep and feed ball off early
2. Bergvall is a big, strong guy for his age who doesn't look like a pussy and doesn't strike me as lazy.
3. Both berg and eze are not likely to hand the ball over to the oppo like we loved to do last season from the middle of the park, which = less scrambling back on tunrovers.
4. Maddison's best area of operation last season was in the forward left zone. I will stand by that. It was where he did his best work at the beginning of the season, striking up a good relationship with udogie.
5. This is the "sort of thing", as stated.

My main point is level of QUALITY.

Still, if you play that lot right and have one FB off and one on, it's cooking.

Depends how you tweak it.

So are we saying Gio and cash to Villa, in exchange for Ramsey?
Which they'll just go and spend on Kulu...

So we're basically giving them the money to give back to us to buy Kulu with...?

I'm not sure if that's pure Genius or sheer Madness!!!!

I was concerned about things being quite but we've seen with Hojbjerg, half 10 last night first reports, 10am it's confirmed he's gone.

would hope to have 1/2 in by August.
