I agree with this. We need more players that can link up rather than run in straight lines. It’s not that. He’s not a focal point of an attack and is miles better off the left than at 9. Him and Toney feeding each other would work.

We could lower the fee by writing off our sell-on percentage on Edwards too. Wonder if they would be interested in Veliz bundled in too? He’s got Portuguese league written all over him IMO.Sell Richy for 60, buy Gyok for 60 + 10-20 in perf-related bonuses. Even if/when you end up paying the whole 80 for the big Swede, really he's only cost you 20 mil...wages will be lower than Richy's too.
20 bags for him, the way he played for Sporting last year, the way he looks perfect for Ange's system? No brainer in my books.
not a phrase you would associate with Richarlison…
You've obviously never lived there. Even their players, despite living in the fancy parts and having security & all that, how many got their houses broken into, their families held at gunpoint etc...it's a mad, mad city.
As for the club, their president is one of the most inept in the history of OM...and French football. But he sure is one of its biggest crooks. True Marseille fans absolutely hate his guts. And it's common knowledge that the local mafia has its say in how the club is run, who does what etc.
90%This is revisionism. He was actually incredible for 90% of of his matches before going to the Asian Cup. When he got back he looked physically and emotionally spent, as is only natural for someone who the domestic and international football calendar asks too much of.

Gary is the good Jacobs and that’s now a second Saudi club linked.
Gut feeling is this is further along than we know and we might see the club spending the cash before he goes.
I mean, even the Chelsea match he scored and was a toenail away from making it 2-0. But even if you’re saying he’s only effective when he’s scored, his record before going to the Asian Cup had him only 2nd to Haaland in the golden boot. Are you French?

What did he do against Brentford?
Man United?
Bournemouth?
Showed up Vs Burnley when everyone was fed up with him.
Sheff United? Nothing.
Luton? Nope.
Woolwich - showed up.
Liverpool - showed up.
Palace - showed up.
Chelsea? Nothing
First 10 games shows he did something in 40% of the games. (4 in 10 is 40% in case you don't know how percentages work)
There's only one person revising anything here. Son went missing and was absolute fucking awful for long spells. You can say some of it was through playing down the middle, but even that doesn't excuse just how badly he played as well as not scoring.
We've seen players not score but play well. Those were not the games he had.
He should be used more sparingly IMO. Either start but only play 60 minutes, or not play every match, or sometimes be used as an impact sub.
Even if it’s 10m, it could still help get a deal done for Gyokeres, given how tricky Portuguese clubs are to negotiate with.![]()
Tottenham waive part of Marcus Edwards sell-on clause for Pedro Porro deal
TOTTENHAM had to surrender millions out of Marcus Edwards’ sell-on clause to Sporting Lisbon in order to sign Pedro Porro in January. Spurs sold Edwards in 2019 to Vitoria Guimaraes who then …www.thesun.co.uk
Won't be much left of it at this rate. Nor is he worth much by all accounts (£15m ish these days?
My questioning of your post was the 90% stat. That literally means he played well in 9 out of 10 matches, but you know as well as I do it was nowhere near that.I mean, even the Chelsea match he scored and was a toenail away from making it 2-0. But even if you’re saying he’s only effective when he’s scored, his record before going to the Asian Cup had him only 2nd to Haaland in the golden boot.
His minutes definitely need to be managed better next season though. He’s a player who relies on high impact sprints and he’s not gonna be able to do it effectively for 40+ matches in his mid-30s.

Still traumatised over the month long saga for Porro tbh.Even if it’s 10m, it could still help get a deal done for Gyokeres, given how tricky Portuguese clubs are to negotiate with.
Son's better when the team is counter attacking. The second half of the season our laboured build up play didn't provide many opportunities for sprints.
Some of the takes on Son are unbelievable. Off the back of a season with 17 goals and 10 assists suddenly he is worse than Toney and off form because he missed a couple of chances in pre-season.

Doesn't he have an injury reputation that makes Lo Celso look robust?
City's signings have been a bit sus recently. £55m on Mattheus Nunes who couldn't get a game, £60m on Doku who has talent but little end product as yet, and £90m on Gvardiol who spent half the season looking like Bambi on ice.He isn't a natural replacement for De Bruyne, maybe City are looking to change how they play.
£40 up front (the rest structured) for Toney and shove 20 over to Eze fund.Get 60 for rich and we should go all out for a gyokeres or isak no reason why we cannot.
