Or...

The bulk of our business is done...

We’ll sign another attacker and offload 80% of our dead wood. That’ll be it for the summer.

That being said I think Gray and Bergvall are going to be awesome for us. Mikey Moore looks ready to contribute right now. We’ll be ok but people looking for multiple more big signings will end up disappointed- 1 more big signing this summer and that’s it.

In your opinion, I think you meant to say.

Ange has said he gives the final sign off on all incomings
What they say is irrelevant and we all know this. Levy gonna Levy even if it's by proxy.

Unlimited funds does not supersede FFP
Premier League Smh GIF by Manchester City

Sadly he sounds optimistic but, we know how this ends with probably an underwhelming signing two weeks after the season starts.
With a disgruntled manager, who, after a year or so has worked out how things go. It's at that time they start thinking they need to get out and that usually ends with a falling out with the players and terrible performances.

We still need another left back.

If we burnt everything to the ground, the deadwood would still be there.
Gil, Skipp, Davies, Reguillon, GLC, and arguably 2 or 3 more including some youngsters on loans need moving on for this season.
I think we'll struggle with 80% of that. Especially as we've paid a few to go already.

I would hope we can move 80% of the deadwood but you could be right it’ll be hard to move even that much on…

£10m is very low for Hoj, even given his age and contract situation. £15m is about the minimum I'd have expected, and more like £18-20m in all honesty. There is a decent player there in the right system, as he showed for Denmark.

Wouldn't be surprised if Atleti or someone tries to gazump this at the last minute.
And yet if we tried charge over odds for him youd have supporters giving out 'oh typical levy trying to get the last penny instead of getting rid'

I see panic stations have set in already. I know we've been stung before, but we now have a DOF who keeps things very close to his chest, minimal leaks. We didn't know about Gray until a day before, we didn't know about Hojbjerg to Marseille until the day of.

I fully expect us to make 2-3 more first team signings.

Damned if he does, damned if he don't.

A fee potentially raising to £17m for a player with a year left who we didnt want is fine business, and it's a profit.

You're absolutely right as well. If Hojbjerg and lined up for us on 1st September the same people would be moaning that he still here and that we were asking for too much. (They will also be the same people who claim we should have never got rid when we lose a game - the weird bunch who still believe Ndombele is world class and that Lamela should come back)

Not the first manager to be let down and won’t be the last.

He said the other day that he was comfortable with the situation so he probably understands why we haven't done more business, anyway using this window in comparison with previous windows is kinda disingenuous - the vast majority of our rivals who are normally good at recruitment haven't done much business (Ars, Liv, New, City) that tells you a it's own story that the market is dead right now and probably due to the Intl tournaments this Summer.

The thing is no-one really knows who are targets are and no-one really knows how far down the line we are with them, not sure we can say he's been let down with 0 context - it seems the only people who've been let down are the fans because of their expectations.

£17m for Hoj would be solid business...£10m wouldn't.

Anyway, all about incomings now. Though exciting, Gray & Bergvall (plus promoting Moore, Lankshear, Hall...) clearly not enough for a team whose HC claims he's uber serious about winning.

I get we needed to shift some deadwood so the 1st team squad ain't 40-strong, but let's not fall into you know who's trap of believing we're one of them poor clubs who must sell before making purchases.

Man City are backed by an oil state and virtually have unlimited funds, you wouldn't find them paying £80m for a player who's had one hot year in the Super Liga.

The reason why Sporting put his release fee so high because they know that no one would actually be dumb enough to match it.
Ok. Let’s hope Richy comes good then!!
