He could go one way or the other I think. Either he bucks up his idea's and plays quick, intelligent football.
Or he reverts back to hogging the ball for too long and our football is miserable and boring as a result.

If he stays on the wing it won't work here IMO.
If he becomes a utility player who plays centrally and false 9 I can see him being a real asset and incredible for the depth of our squad.

Just under a goal every 3 games. But that's including a lot of sub appearances.

Add 8 assists to that - 19 goal involvements in 2682 minutes is a goal involvement every 140 odd mins - with a lot of sub appearances but still lot of mins on the pitch.

Richarlison was 11 goals 4 assists in 1511 which is a goal involvement every 100 odd mins.

Not advocating for keeping Richarlison btw - we can definitely upgrade but IF Alvarez isn't putting up better numbers when playing for the best team in the league then would he better us?

Ok so Bayern are paying 50m + add ons for him. No chance in hell Levy signed off on that. Only time will tell if we were right to step out at that price point. The scouting team were definitely meant to be keen if we believe the reports.

Edit: Maybe we also moved on because the player wanted Bayern or PSG. but even if he wanted us would we have paid 50m + addons? doubt it.
Why would you doubt that, we've done similar for a number of players already.

I could understand us missing out if his preference is one of the others, but not because we thought the fee was too high. Recent history has shown that it isn't, if we've identified him as a player we really want.

I think Richarlison, statistically, was one of the best in the PL last season if you work out minutes per goal.

His problem was the minutes were hard to rack up.

For anyone playing a min of 1500 mins he is second i believe next to Haaland who scored 27 in 2581.

Palmer prob the most impressive though with 22 in 2640 from MF with 11 assists to boot.
