Look at Maddison's progressive passes compared to Eze's for example, Maddison is a chance creation machine where as Eze excels at ball carrying and fashioning his own chances:

Yeah look I think Eze is a quality player but he doesn't help us break down low blocks any better than Maddison for example - Maddison's first thought is a forward pass - he's the amongst the most aggressive players in the league in that respect, he's constantly looking for a forward pass. Eze is likely to slow down the play as his first thought is to dribble and take on players which isn't more effective than than a forward pass.
Dunno maybe there's room for both of them in the team at times, I'm extremely skeptical by the way of Eze playing wide in this team but I can't be arsed to get into that
