Until the last week of the window they hold the cards whilst they tart him about to various clubs. It's not as if Toney has been such a loyal servant that Brentford will bend over to get him his dream move to the club of his choice.

I imagine it's going to be painful for all parties.

Tart him about to who?

Nobody is interested. UTD needed a striker in exactly the profile he fits and the went for Zirkzee,

Woolwich need a striker but don’t want him.

Chelsea? Fuck knows what they are up to but he’s too old for them. They are the Leonardo Di caprio of football clubs.

I left West Ham out on purpose. That’s probably where he’s going but if we’d agreed a deal with Brentford and just waiting for the green light from them, why would Toney to threaten to walk for free if Brentford don’t drop the price?

If we do have 2-3 deals ready to go, Ivan Poney ain’t one of them

Toney would give us something different going forward, but I think a winger who can retain possession and take players on is more important.

But that being said, we aren't getting a LW. That spot's beings saved for Moore. And as far as the right goes, I don't see us giving up on Johnson either. We need a calming presence in the final third who can keep the ball and wait for the right moment to play the final ball.

I'm not really sure who that player would be or what position they'd play.

Think you’ll find Liverpool abd city also win the ball back very quickly mostly in the oppo half. Bit like Spain do. They all play high but put in a shift abd crowd the oppo players so they never get forward. Unfortunately our front 3 are not very physical.
Not to turn this into the Tactical Autopsy Thread but we were objectively better than both Pool and City at winning the ball back, winning a tackle or intercept every 73 seconds out-of-possession on average.

Are you suggesting that the songs they sing about themselves being massive aren't entirely accurate?

Very well said. I remember an interview with Toney while he was out and he seemed to have a very specific few clubs he wanted to go to. I think he didn't show enough to get to those clubs when he came back and now, as you say, it's not going to be what he hoped for. There's a talented player there, but he's more a risky bet than he would have been before the suspension.

With Hojbjerg out, watch us go for Conor Gallagher at a premium price.

Typical Spurs business, letting good players go and getting inferior replacements.

The theme for the last many many years.

Berbatov - Pavlyuchenko
Trippier - Aurier
Aurier - Royale
Kane - Richarlison (although Richie came before Kane left)

Pretty sure there's more but I cant recall

Imagine getting mad at a scenario that hasn't happened yet.
