whats he rated as to be overrated? hes an upgrade on richarlison.
Being better than Richarlison shouldn’t be the standard imo. And to be honest, that is really up for debate. Pre ban Toney was better, Toney of last season? Not too sure. Revenue of £550m in 22/23, higher than Woolwich and the Chavs. Yet they’re linked to Gyokeres and Nico Williams and we’re scraping the barrel.

Giant mentality shift needed at this club if we are to take the next step up. Being happy with a soon to be 29 year old striker who has had a grand total of one good season in the top flight isn't right. Especially when that one good season happened before he stuck his feet up for a the best part of a year after getting banned.

Exactly.

A mentality shift is needed from the fans too. Everyone has to expect more from this club if any of us want to see this club win anything in our lifetimes.

Fan mentality isn't particularly relevant. You'll never get enough fan uproar against ENIC unless lower table beckons.

While ENIC are the owners everything will be ultra carefully calibrated to achieve 4th place. The perfect balance of revenue, profit and (low) risk. The next owners could be better or indeed worse ..

I'm a Spurs fan so I'll always support the team, and 4th place still means plenty of wins to enjoy along the way. But we are never winning the title without an absolute freak of a season, which won't happen.

I do have some hope that Ange's approach might win a cup though, that'd be great.

Was about to celebrate us being able to move this guy on (miracle after injury record), then read "medical almost completed".

(He's already released though, don't worry)

2 people dont want their club to sign top players
I'm as anti ENIC as anyone, but signing players you've heard of isn't a plan, nor is it any guarantee of success.

I want players that can perform and have a record of doing so. Players that can perform the role we're employing them for.
If you were an employer, would you ignore a CV and recommendations from prior employers of a candidate and just say "I've heard of him, so I'll take him"

We've failed miserably trying to sign household names too many times. We need a rethink. I hadn't heard of Udogie, Van De Ven, Sarr or Vicario before we got them. Yet every one of them improved us.
I had heard of Lucas Moura, Moussa Sisoko, Erik Lamela, etc, etc, etc, and most of them were shit.

hes defo an upgrade on richarlison. i like richy, but hes not a good footballer.

we at least have an idea of what we get from toney, gyokeres would be a bit of a gamble.

even if rich stays toney would be a good buy. rich can play on the left and we need better options for striker. veliz looks a long way off being ready and thats if he ever will be.

Win the league cup and our own fans will be referencing it as 'clown cup' or 'worthless cup' I think I heard when we won the 'Worthington' Cup.

Win the FA Cup and it will be played down as a minor, over due trophy on the back of lucky draws.

Win the UEFA Cup and it will be the Thursday night budget squad cup.

Win the league and it will be because it was the easiest ever season to win it. ever.

Sesame Street Idk GIF
I'll take any of that.
