RM: "Ahhhh, so THAT'S what a creative midfielder looks like!"

Ben Davies!!??? 👀

I'm still in the back of my head hoping we go for Evan Ferguson. He didn't have much of a season last season, but he has the looks of someone going places in a year or two. As back up to Richy and Son the coming season and after that as competition for the no 1 spot with Lankshear.

Clearly in a minority here but think Solanke is ready for a step up.

19 goals last season - appeared in every game. 4th highest XG90, good with his back to goal, good passer, strong, great in the air.

Think he would be an excellent fit for our system and would score a lot of goals for us.

Torn on Chiesa

When on it, he's top 10 in the world in his position. One of my absolute favourites in the world to watch. But he's had horrible injuries. Cruciate was years back but just niggly ones here and there since. And Angeball and the training is full on. He'd at least have Johnson and potentially Moore sharing the minute so hopefully eases him through.

But then 25m is nothing in this market. It really isn't. Especially when someone like Neto is being quoted for 60m. And when both are fit and on form, Chiesa is a much better player.

Guess we'll see what happens.

Not sure this chiesa link has much truth in it, no other news outlets are really picking up on it.
Chiesa is an excellent player. His problem is a contractual level with the club. He asked for contractual adjustments too many times, not in line with the economic recovery of the club which lost a lot of money by skipping the year in CL. Since he expires in 2025 and does not have the proposed figures, Juventus wants to sell him for €20/30 million.

He’s also capable of creating his own goals with tricks and flicks around the area. He is a good player. Mighty dear though.

When he is well it is devastating: he has recovered from the bad injury. As written, the problem with Juventus is the renewal. Without renewal (expires in 2025) it is better to leave now and possibly abroad.

So you think this might be happening?

There is some weirdness in that list. It suggests Kane would be ready to return but we would pass him over for Toney for example.
It was just my list of people we’ve been linked with and, yes it was suggested Kane might come back at some stage. Obviously I would have the old Kane back over any of the others but I thought he was terrible in the Euros so I think we need to look at new younger players. I see I forgot Isak. I don’t think Solanke is much cop

Some players time comes a little later

Bournemouth still played Wilson and King up top at the time, wasn't until they got relegated that he really started to lead the line.

Gyokeres struggled for 3 seasons to break through at Brighton, st pauli, Swansea and Coventry and look at him now.... most would be happy to drop 80m on him and he's never scored a goal in a top 5 league.

I don’t trust him to deliver either.

Juventus is making a wall: he and Huijdsen together with Rugani, McKennie, De Sciglio have been left in Turin while the team trains at the Adidas center in Germany.

Juventus invested a lot in him and waited for him in his recovery. I would have expected gratitude. Among other things, he had bet on the European Championship to promote himself... it went badly so now he has a gun without ammunition...

So you think this might be happening?

They want him out. Paratici surely is pushing him to us?

Thiago #Motta on Federico #Chiesa : "For now he's a #Juventus player, then we'll see...".

The #Juventus plan does not change: both the company and the manager have approved Chiesa's exit in this transfer session.
Juve wants Chiesa to leave the club to profit from it.
