Seems to check out with what the likes of POK have said when it comes to other teams getting their business done before giving us the greenlight.
Ultimately, it would have been great to get business done by now but surely it's better to get your main and top targets in, even if it does mean a little later.
Chiesa's best goalscoring tally in all comps is 14.
I don't think we should base a players goalscoring tally on previous clubs and their style though. It always tough.
As an example, Salah never managed any more than 19 goals in all comps before joining Liverpool, which he managed just once.

People want Neto yet he's never even managed more than 5 league goals in a season...
What we need to do is prioritise profile over output at other clubs. The right profile in this system could quite easily pop off.

This is small club mentality though, we sold Kane our All time PL goal scorer and still haven't replaced him, we shouldn't accept this mediocrity and we should absolutely be looking to sign a striker to replace Kane and who is better than who we have!

Most of the players that have gotten them to 2nd were relative nobody's, costing very little.
Back in 2018 when Poch said its hard to upgrade what we have, I said we could at least upgrade the bench. This has always been our problem. City have 2 x 11's that can win a title.
Our 2nd 11 can't even win a fucking throw in usually.
